About
Morris...
Hi, I’m Mark Morris, proud 3rd grade teacher at Tarwater Elementary. My goal is to have a classroom full of laughter, positive memories, challenges, and life-lessons.
My Education and Professional Background
I received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education: K-12 Literacy Instruction from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and a Bachelors of Arts in Education, Elementary Education, at Methodist University. I have taught grades 2 and 3 as a homeroom teacher and grades KG-5 as a reading specialist in North Carolina. Most recently I worked as the English Vice Principal in Abu Dhabi and the Curriculum and Testing Coordinator at Qatar Academy in Qatar. I am excited to be a part of the wonderful Toro team!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe it is my responsibility, and pleasure, to prepare my students to become life-long learners, both academically and socially. Respect and kindness are paramount attributes and my goal is to foster these qualities by providing a positive example while providing a safe, judgement-free environment for all. As a parent myself, I strive to treat all students as I would want my own children treated!
