About
Sánchez...
My name is Denise Sánchez and I am delighted to be a teacher at CTA Independence. There is no doubt, this year will provide many opportunities for our 2nd grade community to learn, grow, reflect, and celebrate. The greatness we will experience begins with sharing our greatness with others!
My Education and Professional Background
My educational background includes a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, from New Mexico State University, a Masters in Elementary Education, Bilingual, Reading and English as a Second Language Endorsements, and an Educational Specialist in Education Leadership, all from the University of New Mexico. I started teaching in 1993 with experiences including Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, Fifth Grade, supporting teachers as a peer support teacher, a professional development coordinator, teaching children's literature at the University of New Mexico, and being a school principal.
My Educational Philosophy
It is my belief that all students are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow academically, emotionally, and socially. My goal is to develop each student as a whole and provide them with both the academic and behavioral skills necessary to be successful both in and out of the classroom. I will set high standards for my class while creating a fun, yet structured, classroom environment where students feel supported, respected, and comfortable taking challenging risks and pushing towards their goals. Above all, I want each and every one of my students to develop a love for learning and be proud of their accomplishments!
