About
Wirtz...
Welcome to the K-3 Self-Contained Classroom at Shumway Leadership Academy. I am so excited to take on the role of teacher in this classroom. I look forward to helping each of my students work to their full potential in my classroom, and throughout our school community.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a double major in Business Management and Marketing from Indiana University. I took time off after having children, and re-entered the workforce as a substitute teacher in Ohio for a year. I fell in love with teaching, and after moving to Arizona in 2015, I sought a job in the schools. I was a paraprofessional in the K-1 classroom for 2 1/2 years, and spent this past spring passing the state exams required to become a Certified Teacher. I am so excited to be working with the students in my classroom in my new role. I am looking forward to a great year of growth!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all students are ready to learn something, just maybe not the same things at the same time.
