Hi! I am very excited to be joining the special education team at Sanborn Elementary! I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and adventure with your child.
My Education and Professional Background
I was born in Ohio and moved to Arizona in 4th grade. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2016 with my Dual Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education. I spent the last year teaching inclusion special education in a private school setting, working with medically fragile students. I worked with many different disabilities, as well as implemented Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques into my classroom. I have had experience teaching preschool through 3rd grade, in both general education and special education classrooms.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that education is one of the most important tools a person can have. Children must have a stimulating educational environment that uses multisensory instruction, allowing them to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this atmosphere in my classroom to allow each student to reach their full potential. As a special education teacher and advocate, I encourage everyone to celebrate the differences that make each individual child unique, as well as always seeing the ability in every disABILITY!
