Welcome!

Welcome to 2nd Grade!! I am so very excited to be your child's teacher at our fabulous school! I look forward to an amazing year of academic growth as well as creating a supportive community within our classroom. We are going to have a FANTASTIC year! I look forward to meeting you all real soon!

My Education and Professional Background

I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology & Exercise Science from Arizona State University in 1998 and my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University in 2012. I love being a student almost as much as I love being a teacher! This year marks the 21st year of teaching for me in the wonderful valley of sunny Arizona. I loved teaching Physical Education for the first part of my teaching career. I realized very quickly that love for teaching that I had and wanted to be in the classroom with the kiddos even more. I have been blessed teaching the second grade ever since! I wouldn't trade my job for anything in the world!

My Educational Philosophy

I believe each and every child has the potential to bring unique experiences and special interests to the world. Learning is a lifelong adventure and commitment that includes much more than just academics. My hope is that my love and passion for teaching will help me truly get to know your child and use all of what I learn to support and motivate their learning each and every day. I believe that in order to accomplish this, we need a strong connection between parents and school which will produce the most effective learning experience for our students. I look forward to getting to know each of my students and their families.
