Welcome to Mr. Mosqueda's Learning Community, where learning takes place every day! If you are reading this, you probably already know that I am excited to be teaching the most important subject at the best junior high school in the greatest state in the nation.
My Education and Professional Background
I have been teaching at Santan Junior High School since 2004 and have taught everything from Technology to Language Arts. My passion, however is Social Studies. I have taught both 7th and 8th grade Social Studies and am absolutely fascinated by history and government. Before coming to Santan, I taught at Borman Middle School in Phoenix.
I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Journalism and Political Science and eventually earned a Masters in Instructional Technology. I have also served on various leadership committees including Department Chair, Integrated Team Lead, Superintendent's Advisory Committee, Technology Committee, and sponsored Yearbook and Student Council.
My Educational Philosophy
I am here for my students. My job isn't just to merely teach you about a bunch of old dead people. My job is to inspire you, to help you grow, and to prepare you for whatever life throws at you. My promise to my students is that I will be here for you, I will be prepared, and I will work hard for you. I have high expectations for myself, and I also have high expectations for my students. I expect my students to give their best effort, and if they don't, to accept the consequences. I take my job seriously, and I expect my students to do the same.
