Perry High School to Retire Jalen Williams’ Jersey in Special Ceremony

GILBERT, AZ – Perry High School, a comprehensive high school in Chandler Unified School District, is proud to announce that it will officially retire the basketball jersey of alumnus and NBA standout Jalen Williams. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, honoring Williams’ extraordinary legacy and his contributions to the Pumas’ basketball program.

The recognition celebrates Williams’ outstanding achievements and lasting impact on the Perry community. During his tenure as a Puma, Williams’ dedication, leadership, and excellence—both on and off the court—embodied the core values of Pride, Progress, and Purpose that define Perry High School.

"Jalen represents the very best of Perry High School," athletic director Jennifer Burks stated. "His journey from the Dan Serrano Gymnasium to the highest levels of professional basketball serves as an inspiration to our current and future Pumas. We are thrilled that his will be the first number to be hung on our wall of honor.”

The retirement ceremony is scheduled to occur immediately following the Junior Varsity Boys Basketball game, ensuring students, faculty, and the Perry community can join in the celebration.
