In just ten short years, a program that started in the 3A conference has officially ascended to the pinnacle of Arizona high school sports.

The Casteel High School Girls Soccer team has been crowned the Arizona Open Division State Champions, securing their title in a thrilling 4-3 victory over Xavier Prep on penalty kicks. This victory isn't just a trophy for the case; it is the culmination of a decade of excellence.

The 2025–26 Colts didn't just win; they dominated. Entering the postseason as the #2 (behind Hamilton) ranked team in Arizona and climbing as high as #14 in the MaxPreps National Rankings, the stats from this season tell a story of an elite squad:

• 73 Goals Scored
• 57 Assists
• 8 Shutouts

With an overall program record of 160–24–7—a staggering .855 winning percentage—Casteel has solidified itself as the gold standard for district school athletics in the Southwest.

What makes the Colts truly special is their ability to reload year after year. The current roster of 32 players showcases a deep bench of talent and a bright future:

• Seniors: 12 leaders, including 9 college commits.
• Underclassmen: A powerhouse junior and sophomore class that includes a U16 Youth National Team player.
• The Alumni Legacy: Out of 64 alumni and current players, 43 have committed to play collegiate soccer—an incredible 67.1% success rate.

At Casteel, "student-athlete" isn't just a title, it’s a standard. While the team was busy racking up goals and steals, the Senior class maintained an impressive 3.70 average unweighted GPA. This commitment to academic elite status ensures that these champions are prepared for success long after the final whistle blows.
