Important Dates & Information
- School Year: July 15, 2026-May 20, 2027
- Now accepting Open Enrollment Applications for the 2026-27 school year for K-12 students.
- Open Enrollment is designed to allow your student to attend a school outside your attendance boundary school.
- If you are out of boundary for Chandler Unified School District (CUSD), or the school you desire to enroll in, start with an open enrollment application.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- All incoming Elite Performance Academy students will use the Elementary application.
- Incoming AJHS and Basha AMS 6th grade students will use the Secondary application.
- Incoming ACP Middle School students can click here for ACP Middle School enrollment information.
- Students currently attending a site on open enrollment do NOT need to re-apply to remain at the same site for the next school year.
- If your student does not currently attend a CUSD school, the application MUST include your students' grades or transcript (transcript required for new to CUSD 9-12 students), attendance and behavior reports.
Directions for Submitting
NOTE: If you are applying for Open Enrollment to attend a school that you do not reside in the boundary of, please wait to submit registration to the applied school until you receive your open enrollment decision letter, which will detail your next steps.Open enrollments may be submitted via email to the secondary school's registrar (listed on the bottom of this page) or to the office of secondary education. Applications may also be dropped off at the secondary school site or at the district office (with the exception of ACP Middle School, utilize the online application available here).
- It is expected that the student on open enrollment remain at the requested school for the entire school year. Revoking an open enrollment to return to boundary CUSD school mid-year requires district approval.
- If you do not currently attend a CUSD school, your application must have the most recent grade report or transcript, attendance, discipline reports and current IEP (if applicable) attached. If any of this information is missing, the application cannot be processed.
- One application per student is accepted. Please do not submit applications to more than one site.
- Providing false information will result in the request being denied and/or admission being revoked.
- Transportation (busing) is not provided to students on open enrollment.
- It is recommended that the student remain at their current school while awaiting open enrollment decision. Please do not withdraw your student from school until open enrollment has been approved.
- Grades 9-12 Special Note Regarding Athletics and Extracurricular Activities: Eligibility for athletics and certain extracurricular activities may be affected when students transfer from one school to another. A student considering transfer is advised to discuss his/her situation with the Athletic Director at the site of current enrollment.
- Chandler Online Academy Special Note: Applications for students who wish to attend Chandler Online Academy full time are to be submitted to the Office of Secondary Education. Students who wish to take three or fewer courses with COA with the balance of their courses taken at their brick and mortar school are to utilize the part-time student application on the COA website found at this link.

As we near the end of the 2025-26 school year, the 2025-26 (current school year) Secondary Open Enrollment Application and Procedures have been removed from the webpage. If you are a CURRENT CUSD family that has recently moved from the enrolled junior high/high school attendance boundary, please contact the school's registrar to request the application and procedures PDFs for continued enrollment.

Required Information for Online Student Registration
You will need the following information to enter and upload into our secure Online Registration Portal:
- Household information – address and phone numbers
- Parent/Legal Guardian information – work and cell phone numbers, e-mail addresses
- Student information – demographic and health information
- Emergency contact – names and phone numbers
- *Proof of Residency – current utility bill, lease agreement, etc. (see Acceptable Proof of Residency under Additional Student Registration Information on the right)
- State certified birth certificate
- Legal guardian or legal custody papers (if the parent/legal guardian is not on the birth certificate)
