Welcome!

Hi! My name is Stephanie Raphael and I am extremely excited to be teaching first grade at Riggs Elementary! When I am not teaching, I love to travel, shop, and spend time with my family and friends. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to teach another group of first grade students and I look forward to a fantastic year!

My Education and Professional Background

I grew up in Southern California and I moved to Arizona to attend college. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. After graduating from the University of Arizona, I taught second grade for two years in the Washington Elementary School District. When I decided to teach in Chandler, I also decided to move grade levels as well. I absolutely love teaching first grade! This will be my fourteenth year teaching first grade in the Chandler Unified School District.

My Educational Philosophy

As your child's teacher, I will create a safe, comfortable, and caring environment in order to help each student be successful and learn. I will encourage your child to always try his/her best. Henry Ford once said, 'Whether you think you can or think you can't-you are right.' I feel that attitude is extremely important, and I try to teach my students each and everyday that their attitude will directly effect their success in life.
