|Position:||Multimedia and Film|
Hello, my name is S. Justin Poirot! Welcome to my home page. One of my favorite things as a teacher is being able to see my students learn and create and succeed in multimedia. Whether they become directors, actors, reporters, or producers I love having the opportunity to be a part of their development. I hope that I can help my students the way all of my teachers helped me. Thanks for visiting!
My Education and Professional Background
PhDc (In Progress) Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Oklahoma - Norman, Oklahoma, Master of Arts, Communication, Pittsburg State University - Pittsburg, Kansas, Bachelor of Arts, Communication, University of Missouri - Columbia, Missouri, PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE - 1997-2000 Sports Videographer for University of Missouri 2000-2003 Producer/Videographer/Master Control Operator/News Assistant for KOAM TV, 2003-2009 Mass Communication Instructor at Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College 2009-2015 Teaching Assistant/Research Assistant at the University of Oklahoma, 2015-2017 Producer/Videographer for the K20 Center at the University of Oklahoma
My Educational Philosophy
Learn by doing. Students in Multimedia can learn from textbooks and lectures, but they can learn even more by getting hands on with the equipment and learning the fundamentals. I want my students to be able to do well in the so-called real world so they are going to learn all aspects of the multimedia experience. While they may excel in one area, potential employers are more likely to look at those students that have knowledge and experience with all aspects of multimedia production.
