Welcome!

I look forward to working with you this year. My goal is to change the mindset that MATH IS EVIL! It is everything but evil.

My Education and Professional Background

I have been teaching since 2008. I graduated from a small liberal arts college in Minnesota called Gustavus Adolphus College. While attending college I earned my degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in science. I moved to Arizona to get away from the cold. Here I started my teaching career in third grade, moved to fifth grade, tried out sixth grade, then returned back to fifth. Ever since I started teaching I have gained a love for math and went back to school to get a better understanding of the math world. I earned my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. I took additional classes and tests in order to get my certification as a math specialist, which has lead me to where I am today.

My Educational Philosophy

Every student is capable of success!

Welcome!

Welcome to Bologna Preschool! My name is Madiha Sarwar and I am very excited to be teaching preschool and to be able to make learning fun and exciting for my students. As an educator, I believe that every child can be successful if there is a teacher who believes in them!

My Education and Professional Background

Degrees and Certifications: Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University. SEI Endorsement

My Educational Philosophy

We believe that children learn through experience and discovery. Our goal is to prepare children to enter kindergarten with a healthy self-concept and a positive attitude toward school and learning. This is accomplished by offering age appropriate curriculum designed to develop social, emotional, physical and cognitive abilities in our students. Since every child is unique, our preschools are designed to allow children to initiate activities that grow from personal interest and intentions.

Welcome!

Welcome to Kindergarten!!! We are going to have a fun and busy year of learning and growing together! I look forward to working with all of my families and building a wonderful community together. It is going to be a successful year!

My Education and Professional Background

I have been teaching in the Chandler Unified School District since 2008. Prior to coming to Bologna, I taught preschool in the district at Pathways Learning Center and Hartford. I opened the preschool program here at Bologna. After having lots of fun in preschool, I moved on up to kindergarten and have loved every minute of it as well! Early Childhood Education has always been a focus and love of learning for me. I am a Chandler native and a proud graduate of Chandler High School.GO WOLVES! I attended Arizona State University for my undergraduate degree in Education and received my Master's degree from there in Curriculum and Instruction with an Early Childhood Endorsement as well as my SEI endorsement. GO DEVILS! I spend my time outside of school with family and friends. My husband Steven and I have been married for 12 years and together for 22 years. We met at Andersen Jr. High School here in Chandler. We have a 5-year son named Cutler and a 2-year daughter named Jamisen.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that kindergarten is important because it provides the first steps for your child in strengthening their socialization skills, learning how to compromise, be respectful of others and problem-solve. It bridges the gap between the age when kids spend their days playing (at home, or in daycare/nursery school) and the more formal learning begins making it a smooth transition into the first grade. Kindergarten also provides a place where your child can gain a sense of self, explore, play with their peers, and build confidence. I love that I get to be a part of that!

After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Special Education, I took in-district and college classes to get credits for recertification. A few years ago, I went back to school (NAU) to obtain an endorsement as a K-12 Reading Specialist. Most recently, I have attended trainings for CIMA and the Wilson Reading Program.

My Educational Philosophy

My goal as an educator is to challenge my students and watch them grow to their full potential. I strongly believe that every child has worth and can learn. It is my job, as a teacher, to teach to the needs of my students and to provide differentiated instruction to best serve each student individually. From my own educational experiences, I know how valuable teacher encouragement and motivation is for personal growth. I intend to motivate students while teaching them to be intrinsically motivated through challenging yet supportive lessons and assignments.

We love all the community and schools have to offer and the families here at Bologna.

My Education and Professional Background

This is my 15th year teaching Physical Education and my 9th year here at Bologna Elementary. I taught as a substitute teacher for one year in Chandler as well as teaching for six years in Gilbert, which gives me a lot of variety to bring to our lessons at Bologna. I graduated from McClintock High in Tempe and Arizona State University in Exercise Science. I earned my teaching certificate and master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and love serving and working as a teacher.

My Educational Philosophy

I have a passion for helping children to embrace life, be active and healthy, try new things and develop habits while they are young that will last a lifetime. These habits not only include being healthy and active but working well with others, being respectful, kind and expecting excellence from themselves. I am so excited to implement the seven habits of highly effective people into our curriculum and lives and we all seek out the "Leader in Me!" During PE class students can expect to move and be active each time they come. Students are expected to come wearing tennis shoes, ready to move, listen, learn and work well with others. We will have the opportunity to try many different sports, games, fitness challenges and more. PE has standards to meet as well as incorporating the common core standards to support your child's learning across the curriculum.

Welcome!

Welcome to Band! I teach at Riggs, Ryan, Bologna and Hancock. I am so excited that your child chose to learn an instrument. It can be one of the most rewarding experiences. I hope your child enjoys learning their instrument as much as I enjoy teaching it. I thank you for supporting your child with this endeavor. Please feel free to email me(name/school) with ANY questions or concerns you may have and anything else you feel I should know about your child to make this experience most enjoyable.

My Education and Professional Background

I received my music education degree in 1995 from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. My main instruments are flute and oboe but I learned to play ALL instruments in college, including strings. I have taught many areas and levels of music from grades k-12 such as general music, choir, and concert band as well as marching band and jazz band. I have been teaching with Chandler Unified School District since 2006 and have taught at almost a dozen district schools including Basha High. I attended graduate school at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Beyond the classroom, I'm a private lesson instructor, a freelance musician and a colorguard tech for the WGAZ circuit.

My Educational Philosophy

Music is a universal language, 'the language of emotions'. For children, music has many benefits. It boosts their brain power and improves their memory. Music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas It teaches them confidence, patience, coordination and socialization. Music can be a much needed connection for kids in ways that other things will not allow. It teaches discipline, fosters creativity and is a great form of expression. Music is Math, langUage, hiStory, readIng, sCience! All of which is food for the mind, body, and soul!

Welcome!

Welcome to our classroom, Scorpion Families! I am eager to begin the school year with a great group of students in room 37. We are going to be exploring many different academic and life skill subjects through experimentation and discovery using our five senses. Our classroom curriculum is created to individually meet each student's needs and IEP goals in relation to the Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards! We have a lot to look forward to this year and our adventure is just beginning!

My Education and Professional Background

The 2018-2019 school year is my third year teaching at RGB and I could not be happier to be working in a school so supportive of my education and what I can do for children with disabilities! I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2016 with the degree: Bachelors of Science in Education: Elementary and Special Education-Cross Categorical Mild to Moderate. I have had phenomenal educators that have guided me to be the educator I am today. I have taken multiple courses to study how students learn, best practices to utilize in the classroom, and how to accommodate and modify curriculum to meet the needs of differing students. I feel more than prepared for this adventure in room 37 thanks to those incredible educators I had to teach me during my four years at NAU. I also received a music minor and was part of the percussion studio at NAU. I would like to integrate music in the classroom as much as possible to better all students.

My Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy is that ALL students deserve a great teacher and an exceptional education. The moment a student 'cannot' learn is when the teacher has given up on them and changes need to be made. There is always a way to reach a student and find their true abilities regardless of limitations that may be posed on the student. Teachers hold the key to unlocking students' motivation and love of learning. We guide them and influence their lives from the teaching we provide and we are their champion everyday!

Welcome!

I am elated to be working with your child in fourth grade! The fourth grade team works very closely and we are excited to tackle all of the challenges and witness all of the successes that will occur this year.

My Education and Professional Background

I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University, as well as a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. My teaching career has flourished in the Valley of the Sun for 14 years. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University, as well as a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix.

My Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy included two very necessary components: mistakes and perseverance. I believe, that with encouragement from their support network, our students will learn more than they ever dreamed they could. It is important for students to feel comfortable with their teacher, their families, and their friends to push themselves a bit harder and make those mistakes. Mistakes generate learning! Perseverance is important because students cannot quit trying.
