Hamilton selected Alief Taylor High in the hardest hit areas of the Gulf Coast as many of the faculty and students lost their homes and became displaced as a result of Hurricane Harvey. The school opened its doors to the community as a result of storm and became a shelter, a food pantry, and place to dispatch emergency services. World Affairs is a one-week, international seminar held at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin that selects an annual topic with which students debate and create community-improvement programs. Students from England, Nigeria, and the Caribbean will be attending as well.
