Rice Elementary (2020-2021) |
Rice fifth grade students had a unique experience: Come and Eat It! -- a chef-driven, student-led, LIVE cooking program. This event was a collaboration between Rice Elementary, Aramark, and Independence Gardens. Students learned about the importance of good nutrition, and cooked using fresh, healthy ingredients, including cilantro grown in Rice Elementary's very own hydroponic tower gardens. Thank you to chefs Tess Collins and Subash Yadav for teaching our students how to make a bean tostada with jicama avocado slaw. Come and Eat It Photo Album
