Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Hamilton Theatre won several state awards after their performance on May 24 at ASU Gammage. Our musical was in the top ten for the state for Best Musical, we won for Best Costumes, and Sophia Donnell won Best Lead Female. Sophia will go on to represent Arizona in New York City for the national competition, The Jimmy Awards. She won an all-expense paid trip for a training camp at NYU and then will perform in the same theatre as Lion King.
Basha High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Basha High Early Childhood seniors who applied and tested for the National Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. All nine passed the exam and verification observation/interview, earning their credential! Additionally, they collectively were awarded almost $4,000 in scholarships to cover the entire cost of the certification.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Senior Nichelle Apodaca Rocha and sophomore Mark Damacion are Chandler High's spring semester Positive Referral drawing winners and the recipients of new Chromebooks. 255 students were recognized this semester for going above and beyond and exhibiting excellence in character, and their names were entered into a drawing for Chromebooks purchased with the money CHS earned through participation in the School Cents program.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Cienna Samiley, Chandler High junior, competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis against the top Level 10 gymnasts in the country and medaled on the Uneven Bars with a score of 9.675. Chandler High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Chandler High junior Casey Likes who won Best Vocalist and Best Male Lead for his role in Les Miserables. The last award makes Casey eligible for the National Jimmy Awards, so ASU Gammage is flying him to New York City June 16-25 where he will be representing Arizona and CHS at the national awards competition! Chandler High - (2018-2019) Will Kemper won the Chandler High School Alumni $1,000 Scholarship by submitting a terrific one-minute video explaining what being a Wolf means to him. He captured it beautifully! YouTube video: What it means to be a Chandler Wolf
Chandler High - (2018-2019) AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) sophomores completed a Spirit of Giving Project, a community service project designed to give students the opportunity to give back to their community. Students researched an organization where they could complete at least five hours of service. The project culminated in a reflection essay and poster that highlighted their experience.
Casteel High - (2018-2019) Casteel Junior High Academic Pentathlon, under the direction of Sheila Wilson, finished fifth overall at nationals in Nashville Tennessee. Additional awards include:
- Ajay Maslanka - Bronze in Math, 4th in Science and 9th overall in Honors
- Tiara Furukawa - 4th in Social Science and 8th overall in Scholastic division
- Kendall Smith - 4th in Literature and 8th overall in Varsity division
- Ernie Clark - 4th in Science and Math
- Steven Donaldson - 4th in Science
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Giselle Dominguez, a Chandler High senior, was a Finalist for the 2019 Congressional Art Show and will have her artwork hung in Congressman Greg Stanton's office until September.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Katherine Chou, a Chandler High junior, was a runner up for the 2019 Congressional Art Show, and her work will hang in Greg Stanton's office until the end of May.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Ninety-one Chandler High seniors have earned a Seal of Biliteracy on their diplomas and reflected on their transcripts. The seal was created to reward high school students who were proficient in English and at least one other language as evidenced by their performance on a state board approved assessment.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Solomon Liddell and Alan Valadez signed letters of intent to play soccer at Mesa Community College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Tatum Slate and Kayla Myers signed letters of intent to play softball at Ave Maria and Park Universities.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Sydney Wiedeman signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Adams State University.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Nate Rohlicek and Brendy Bryan signed letters of intent to play baseball at Cochise College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

Chandler High - (2018-2019) Sakina Buycks signed letters of intent to be part of the Aztec Diamonds Dance Team at San Diego State University.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Gracie Bonenberger signed a letter of intent to compete in Field and Track at Hastings College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Tanaeya Johnson signed a letter of intent to compete in Track and Field at Mesa Community College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Da'Jon Walker, Andrew Kirk, Demetrius Warren, Tim Boyd, Javan Ah Quin Jr., Kaipo Magsayo, Jacob Zevallos, and Jon Williams signed letters of intent to play football at the collegiate level.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Emily Kendall signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Pacific University Oregon.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Annika Lagos, Jaden Juarez, Saachi Poddar, Lila Patel, Yvette Mejia, and Trey Lewis have their work on display at Art Intersection in downtown Gilbert. This is a great honor, as there were over 900 entries and only 80 pieces were chosen to be included.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High celebrated the accomplishments of 25 AVID graduating seniors during the AVID Senior Celebration and banquet. The seniors, many of whom have been a part of the college-prep elective for four years, have all been accepted to four-year universities and have earned over $350,000 in scholarship offers.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Twenty Chandler High student-athletes participated in Chandler High's Spring NCAA College Signing Recognition Day and committed to play at the next level. That makes 41 signees this year.
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) In an overnight game on May 15, Hamilton High, under the direction of Coach Mike Woods, won the 6A State Baseball Championship against Corona Del Sol 8-1 at Tempe Diablo Stadium. The first pitch was not thrown until 10:39 p.m. by freshman pitcher Logan Saloman. The last was thrown at 12:30 a.m. It was the third state title in four years and the seventh overall for the Huskies.
Perry High - (2018-2019) Perry High junior Austin Woodman coordinated an Eagle Scout project with Troup 886 to refill the emergency buckets at CTA Freedom. Forty-five buckets were replenished with fresh supplies in case of emergency.
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Abby Liu, Ella Ai and Thalia Liu! Out of over 1,800 high school students from more than 80 countries, regions, and territories around the world competing May 12 - 17 in Phoenix at the prestigious 2019 International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the team of Abby, Ella and Thalia won 4th place overall in the category of Biomedical Engineering and $500 for their project titled Identifying Key Pathways/Mechanisms for the Generation of Pancreatic Beta Cells by Trans-differentiation of Acinar Cells. 2019 ISEF Grand Award winners
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Jennalynn Fung has been selected as a contributor for the 2019 edition of Apprentice Writer. Her photography piece, Fantasies Woven in Thread, will appear in the publication this fall. Apprentice Writer received student submissions from nearly 20 countries in this 37th year of publication.
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Mindy Long! Out of over 1,800 high school students from more than 80 countries, regions, and territories around the world competing May 12 - 17 in Phoenix at the prestigious 2019 International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the Mindy won 4th place overall in the category of Biomedical Engineering and $500 for her project titled A Smartphone-Based, Point-of-Care Iron Sensor Utilizing Colorimetric Techniques. 2019 ISEF Grand Award winners
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Hamilton sophomore Jessica Zhang who was selected by the University of South Carolina as one of the 20 best young pianists from across the U.S. and has been invited to participate in the 17th annual Southeastern Piano Festival June 16-23. Participants will take daily lessons with university piano faculty, attend master classes with guest artists who are among the world's top pianists and practice up to five hours a day. The festival culminates with the Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition featuring $9,000 in cash prizes. Jessica has studied piano since the age of six and has won multiple piano awards. Basha High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Matthew Tucker will graduate from Basha High with perfect attendance (no instances of absence or tardies) over the course of his entire 13 year academic career, remaining diligent and focused on attending and participating in school every day. He ranks 20th in his graduating class and earned a 4.675 GPA. Matthew was awarded the AP + PLTW (Project Lead The Way) Achievement for earning qualifying scores on a combination of three Advanced Placement Exams and Project Lead the Way end-of-course assessments in the Engineering Pathway. He also earned a Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificate in Engineering Sciences, taking four AP courses and the five associated AP tests for those classes. A recipient of the Presidential Scholarship at ASU, Matthew has been accepted into Barrett, the Honors College in pursuit of a Robotics Engineering degree. Basha High Seniors Highlights
Chandler Online Academy - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Victoria Wilson is a senior at Chandler Online Academy who has done so much outside of the traditional school setting. She has not only completed her traditional course work, but she has also completed the Veterinary Assistant Program at EVIT (East Valley Institute of Technology), and she attended and completed a program at the Academy of Equine Dentistry in Idaho. Attending online school has allowed Victoria to keep a rigorous academic course load and be very involved in her passion of working with horses. On top of all these accomplishments, she also received an appointment to the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY! We are so proud of Victoria and all she has done, but we cannot wait to see all that she will continue to do. The sky is the limit for this young lady! Chandler Online Academy Seniors Highlights
Arizona College Prep - Erie Campus - (2018-2019) Congratulations to ACP Erie sophomore Abby Rothert, City of Chandler Trashion Fashion show WINNER in the age 14-17 category. Abby was required to design an outfit out of recyclable materials, and she chose book pages from classics like The Odyssey and To Kill a Mockingbird, and others. Abby's model was her sister, freshman Annabelle Rothert.
Arizona College Prep - Erie Campus - (2018-2019) We are excited to announce that Mrs. Rachna Nath was selected as an Honorable Mention for the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators 2019, sponsored by the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for 2019. Arizona College Prep - Erie Campus - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Kaitlyn Starks is the first female Arizona College Preparatory athlete to commit to playing at the collegiate level in soccer. Kaitlyn excels in everything she does. She is the current Student Government President and also a member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and She's the First. Kaitlyn was awarded Outstanding Student of the Year 2018-19 for her commitment to ACP and her classmates. She will graduate this year as a Distinguished Scholar and has earned an Academic Letter all four years for a GPA far above a 4.0. Kaitlyn is the Varsity Soccer Captain and has also earned an Athletic Letter all four years. She plans to attend St. Joseph's College Brooklyn in the fall to further both her soccer and academic careers. ACP Erie Seniors Highlights
Basha High - (2018-2019) Basha High boys and girls tennis teams took home four first place finishes and two second place finishes at the 2019 Chandler Prep Kiwanis Invitational! For context, 16 teams from across Arizona competed in five competition divisions: three singles and two doubles, in boys and girls tennis. They medaled in six of those ten divisions, and the girls medaled in four of the five divisions.
Basha High - (2018-2019) Basha High choirs, Noteworthy, Counterpoint and High Impact, earned three Superior ratings in National Music in the Parks competition at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. In addition, High Impact, Basha High School's Show Choir, won the Overall Choir award, with the highest score in the competition. Robyn Amans directs the Basha High choirs.
Basha High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Camden Mateen, the Division I State Champion in Mens Varsity Long Jump.
Casteel High - (2018-2019) Ms. Bandin's 10th grade geometry students went to I-Fly for their STEM field trip, which included a hands-on lesson in terminal velocity and indoor skydiving.

Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High boys volleyball and Coach Bobby Robson won the state championship in a five-set thriller over Mountain View on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The victory is Chandler Volleyball's first state title in school history.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High's Native American Seniors were honored at a CUSD banquet on May 3, 2019.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) The Wolf Howl publication team attended a Journalism Education Association convention and participated in a Write-off Competition in Anaheim, California. Two Chandler High students were honored among 3,500 attendees from around the world with two impressive awards. Congratulations to Kailey Shupe for earning Excellent in Commentary Writing, and Selena Haggerty for earning Honorable Mention in Literary Magazine: Poetry.
