Ryan Elementary - (2019-2020) Ryan Elementary students and staff raised $643.00 for the Phoenix Children's Hospital Step up, Stop Cancer Challenge!
Ryan Elementary - (2019-2020) Principal Diane Wells and technology teacher Monikkah Heredia attended and presented a check to Canine Companions for Independence at their annual golf tournament in September.
Santan Elementary - (2019-2020) Santan Elementary was recognized Saturday night at the Arizona State Sun Devils Football game by the College Football Playoff Foundation, Pac-12 Conference and Sun Devil Athletics with a grant from the Extra Yard for Teachers program!
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Thank you to teachers Daphne Medina and Vanessa LaRue who gave up their time on a Saturday to seal our kindness rocks in preparation for Patterson's first rock garden.
Basha Elementary - (2019-2020) Sixth grader Kohen Johnson uses his personal savings at the Book Fair to donate a book to the Basha Elementary School Library! Kohen understands the importance of reading, and hopes Bobcats enjoy the book he selected, Who Is Michael Jordan?
Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary - (2019-2020) Hartford students all contributed to a poster to honor Patriot's Day. The Huskies were encouraged to find a service project that they can do for others.
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) Valley Christian High School held a Pancakes and Pavers event, donating classroom supplies to our teachers while also feeding our 4th-6th graders breakfast!
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) THANK YOU to the Valley of the Sun United Way (VSUW) and General Motors who delivered 1,000 snack packs for our students put together by volunteers.
Basha Elementary - (2019-2020) Basha fifth grade students on the PAW Patrol practice leadership skills and show their PRIDE in the PACK by volunteering their recess time to help kindergarten students log into the computer.
Carlson Elementary - (2019-2020) Our Kindness Club members served at Feed My Starving Children and packed enough food to feed 83 children for a year!
Knox Gifted Academy - (2019-2020) KGA students Sanchit and Vedant Dhingra made an inspiring video to encourage donations to the Chandler Education Foundation Cash for Classrooms campaign on their own at home. We are so impressed with their collaboration and creativity while creating something to help others and pay it forward.
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) THANK YOU to the Chandler Elks Lodge who donated Spanish/English dictionaries to all our Galveston third grade students!
Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary - (2019-2020) THANK YOU to our kind donors who adopted Mrs. Vierthaler's kindergartners! The donors committed to purchasing a new book for each student throughout the school year.
Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) The Frye Elementary staff worked at McDonald's as a fundraiser for Frye Student Council and raised over $600!
Chandler Traditional Academy - Liberty Campus - (2019-2020) Braxton of Boy Scout Troop 582 donated his time and installed 25 American Flags to fly on special days at CTA Liberty.
Conley Elementary - (2019-2020) A special thanks to the Chandler district, our Conley team and one of our very own teachers for supporting the families who faced the tragic loss of their homes burning down. One of our teachers, Mrs. Amanda Serchen supported her son on a project to reach a goal of raising $1,000 to support these families! Not only did they reach that goal, but our great community members donated household supplies, clothing, and furniture to Conley families affected by this loss. Our parents were very grateful and said they truly feel a part of the Conley family.
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) Thank you to the Valley of the Sun United Way and Mr. Cooper (Chandler location) for their kind donation of classroom supplies!
Galveston Elementary - (2019-2020) Thank you to Si Se Puede for visiting Galveston for the last few Saturdays to hold soccer registration for our students.
Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary - (2019-2020) Thank you to the Elks Lodge of Chandler who gave every Hartford Sylvia Encinas third grade student a bilingual dictionary.
Patterson Elementary - (2019-2020) Patterson Elementary students thank Pioneer Landscaping for their rock donation!
Jacobson Elementary - (2018-2019) Jacobson sixth graders worked during fourth quarter on their Genius Hour Projects. The students learned how to sew sling backpacks and worked to fill them with toiletries. These were donated to Hamilton High School to help CUSD students in need. Rajani Rastogi, a social worker for the district, was a guest speaker in one class and invited students to Hamilton High to see how the district manages supplies for underprivileged families. While at Hamilton, Mrs. Wright's class packed 90 supply bags for families, toured the high school and spoke with National Honor Society and Huskies Helping Huskies students, as well as attending a mindfulness session. Santan Elementary - (2018-2019) Santan Elementary students in Mary Logan's third grade class donated a total 1,530 pounds of food to Mathews Crossing Food bank in this years drive.
Chandler Traditional Academy - Freedom Campus - (2018-2019) Student Council Pennies for Patients campaign run by Student Council brought in over $6,000 for cancer patients! Way to go, Falcons! Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Pennies for Patients program website
Riggs Elementary - (2018-2019) The Riggs Relay for Life team was able to fundraise all year with all their donations going toward the American Cancer Society.
Carlson Elementary - (2018-2019) Carlson Elementary Champions collaborated with the Chandler Police, Fire, and City to kick off the Relay for Life Fundraising. Carlson grade levels are collecting coins to help give the "boot" to Cancer. Mayor Kevin Hartke, Police Chief Sean Duggan and Fire Chief Tom Dwiggins all came out to talk to the kids about giving back. Additionally, Carlson Cancer survivors were honored. The Carlson Kindness Club, in conjunction with PTO and the Chandler Police are coordinating this great effort.
Conley Elementary - (2018-2019) A mobilize group from Central Christian Church served a number of schools, including Conley Elementary in April. A team of more than 50 volunteers cleaned all the classrooms and campus, spruced up the staff lounge and bathroom, and left inspirational quotes on the whiteboards for students to see on Monday. Thank you, Central Christian Church!
Tarwater Elementary - (2018-2019) Sixth grader John Davis received the 2019 Youth Echo Award presented by DMB Community Life and Eastmark Subdivision. This award is given to outstanding youth that have dedicated their life to helping others. In addition to receiving a certificate, John received donations (lemon juice, cups and sugar) towards his annual lemonade stand. Profits from the stand will be donated to a local non-profit organization. Thank you, John, for your dedication to helping others in our community!
Jacobson Elementary - (2018-2019) Students from Mrs. Gahn's 6th Grade class participated in a "Walk for Wells" event! Each student walked three miles while carrying a gallon of water. After a semester long unit about learning about the impact of water on the lives of all people and the effects that culture and social norms can play in the shaping of one's identity, the students were inspired to create a fundraiser. The students wanted to raise enough money to help provide access to wells and clean water for the people of South Sudan. So far, Gahn's Gorillas have raised over $500!
Navarrete Elementary - (2018-2019) Navarrete teachers and students wore royal blue on April 2 to show love and support of World Autism Awareness day.
Bologna Elementary - (2018-2019) Thank you to the Basha High School Early Childhood Education Department! They applied for and were awarded a $500 grant from Lead2Feed for our school! They have also been amazing Art Masterpiece partners for us! Thanks so much, Basha High!
Bologna Elementary - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Bologna student Estevan who was "Caught" Being a Leader: Estevan helped two students solve a conflict with Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Bologna Elementary - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Bologna student Damarion who was "Caught" Being a Leader: While playing basketball, Damarion was working to make sure everyone on his team was included.
Bologna Elementary - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Bologna student Dylan who was "Caught" Being a Leader: Dylan helped a friend to safety.
Riggs Elementary - (2018-2019) Riggs Elementary staff recently participated in the "I Ran 4 Ira" event at Seville Country Club. This fun 5K walk/run and pancake breakfast event supports 3rd grade Riggs' student Ira Hamilton. The funds help to pay for Ira's intense 3-4 week therapy camp at the VIP Neurorehabilitation Center in California. The Riggs community is "Ira Strong."
UPDATE: The Ira Run this year raised over $20,000! We were able to raise enough funds for Ira to attend her specialized therapy AND have enough funds to fulfill special grant requests to help other kids as well!
Galveston Elementary - (2018-2019) Galveston Kiwanis Kids met in February to plan and prepare for upcoming community service projects. Pictured are the club officers.
Ryan Elementary - (2018-2019) All Ryan Elementary 6th grade classes teamed up and collected over $300 to buy fleece blanket kits. They made 62 blankets to donate to Project Linus. This organization gives new, homemade, blankets to children who are sick or who have experienced trauma. This is our 5th year doing the project. Project Linus website
Chandler Traditional Academy - Goodman Campus - (2018-2019) CTA Goodman is so proud of the Slyter kids raising $250 from their fruit stand for One Dog Arizona Rescue. One Dog Arizona Rescue
Basha Elementary - (2018-2019) Fifth grade teacher Mr. Soto and the Basha Elementary staff is participating in ColorCycle through Crayola. All used and unwanted markers are being collected in each classroom. The program has been a huge success so far with over 1,000 markers in less than a month! Once the markers are collected, they are shipped to Crayola where they get recycled. Any type of marker can be recycled, no matter the brand or type. We have collected highlighters, Expos, Sharpies, fat and skinny markers of all kind. We are throwing away less plastic in our landfills and protecting our environment. Way to go, Basha Bobcats! Riggs Elementary - (2018-2019) A Riggs Elementary parent anonymously donates 40 gift cards just before winter break every year. Principal Jan Weyenberg places staff members' names into a hat and pulls out a name every day in December. Winners are given two gift cards, one to keep and one to pay forward. Corey Swint was one of the recipients and was recently at ASU on a sixth grade field trip. She decided to pay it forward to an officer covering the game to thank him for his service. He was touched and shocked, to say the least!
Basha Elementary - (2018-2019) Students brought in 100 cents (or more) to celebrate the 100th day of school. Altogether, they raised $104.46. Students voted to donate the money to Arizona Friends for Life, a nearby no-kill animal shelter. The money will be used to purchase needed items for dogs and cats, such as food, leashes and collars. 100 Day Cent was part of our Kindness Quarter here at Basha Elementary.
Chandler Traditional Academy - Independence Campus - (2018-2019) CTA Independence National Elementary Honor Society raised more than $3,000 in gift cards toward school supplies, clothing, gas, and groceries for the Hamilton High school homeless.
Chandler Traditional Academy - Humphrey Campus - (2018-2019) Our student government sold Duck tape to raise money for Humphrey's Multicultural Event. Students used the it to tape Principal Hickey to a pole!
Carlson Elementary - (2018-2019) Carlson Elementary fifth graders in Nicole Bruder's class and first graders in Michelle Lester's class collected pajamas for Scholastic's pajama drive. Additionally, the Carlson student council collected toys for the Hartford Sylvia Encinas Toy Drive.
Elite Performance Academy - (2018-2019) Students and staff at CTA Humphrey/Elite Performance Academy wrote letters to their peers at Ponderosa and Paradise Elementary Schools in Paradise, California. They wrote words of encouragement to the students and staff following the devastating Camp Fire which heavily damaged Ponderosa Elementary and completely destroyed Paradise Elementary. Thank you to staff member Aimee Hendrickson for coordinating.

Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary - (2018-2019) Katlyn Saltzstein's second grade class is participating in random acts of kindness every day this month.
