Perry High - (2019-2020) THANK YOU to the Perry Special Education Department. They do a great job of recycling, doing laundry, and keeping track of our garden outside by the pool.
Chandler High - (2019-2020) Chandler FFA (Future Farmers of America) visited Knox Elementary School to teach Pre-Kindergartens about the letters C and D. Students were able to hold chicks, play chicken poop bingo, create a chicken while learning shapes, and read a book about cows.
Chandler High - (2019-2020) Mr. Sam Alexander, Chandler High Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher, is inspiring students and staff school-wide with signs of encouragement, kindness and caring. He welcomes his students with a sign each day as they enter his classroom, and he walks the halls inspiring others. One student shared that he walks his friend to class just to see the "sign guy."
Chandler High - (2019-2020) Chandler High FFA (Future Farmers of America) students created 50 floral arrangements for "Make Someone Smile Day" during the first week of school. The arrangements were delivered to retirement homes.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) sophomores completed a Spirit of Giving Project, a community service project designed to give students the opportunity to give back to their community. Students researched an organization where they could complete at least five hours of service. The project culminated in a reflection essay and poster that highlighted their experience.
Perry High - (2018-2019) Perry High junior Austin Woodman coordinated an Eagle Scout project with Troup 886 to refill the emergency buckets at CTA Freedom. Forty-five buckets were replenished with fresh supplies in case of emergency.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler Wolves and Hamilton Huskies students worked together with CTA/EPA Humphrey sixth graders in a "Courage Retreat." Students learned to follow their hearts and not the crowd.

Chandler High - (2018-2019) Newly selected Link Leaders had their "Spring Training" day to prepare for the 2019-2020 school year. They participated in leadership discussions, played team-building games and started making plans to make next year's Freshman Orientation Day AMAZING!
Basha High - (2018-2019) In March 2019, 38 middle and high school teams from across the nation were selected as winners of the seventh annual Lead2Feed Challenge earning grants for their team's nonprofit of choice. Through the Lead2Feed Student Leadership Program, students develop 21st century leadership skills and project based learning standards. Basha High Early Childhood Education students developed and implemented a service learning project to bring art lessons to over 400 students at Bologna Elementary every quarter during the 2018-2019 school year. The Lead2Feed Student Leadership Program awarded a $500 charitable grant based on the outstanding work of the Basha High students. Last week Basha High teacher Mrs. Alexander and her students presented the check to the principal, Dr. Padilla, and students at Bologna Elementary.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High FCCLA-ECE (Early Childhood Education) had two teams win $500 grants as part of the seventh annual Lead2Feed Challenge. The Chandler Crusaders (Early Childhood Ed classes) won $500 for the Chandler CARE Center. The Chandler Education Bandits (Paloma Ramirez, Victoria Seeman, and Lisette Meza) won $500 for Yuda Bands. Chandler High - (2018-2019) Twenty Chandler IB Diploma candidates and AP Spanish students served the children of our community and made great connections at the Knox Gifted Academy 5th grade Kindness Retreat.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High's Link Crew helped Ryan Elementary students learn leadership skills last week through Youth Frontiers.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High AVID students worked with Frye Elementary students in February and urged 4th graders to take action to be kind on their campus as part of the Youth Frontiers program.
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Hamilton High's one-in-four benefit gala on February 8 had approximately 120 attendees from Hamilton, local businesses and the Chandler community. The gala was held at a private residence and raised funds for the Hamilton High homeless fund, which exists to provide students and their families with financial and crisis support intervention and resources.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High FFA (Future Farmers of America) students hosted Knox Gifted Academy's 3rd graders at the Ag facility and taught hydroponics, aquaponics, anatomy of chickens, capillary action in carnations, and more.
Perry High - (2018-2019) Perry High SkillsUSA students and other volunteers packed 153 boxes of meals at Feed My Starving Children recently. This will feed 91 children for one year!
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Hamilton High's social work team worked countless hours to assist students and families in need over the holiday season. They distributed 110 Thanksgiving meals to families at Hamilton and CUSD Title I schools. They also distributed approximately 110 adopt-a-family gifts to underprivileged families and held an amazing holiday event that included dinner, a visit from Santa, a raffle, family portraits and gifts for families. More than 1,800 students have visited the supply room since beginning of the year for food and other basic needs. The social work team has assisted Hamilton and other CUSD families on a regular basis with food, clothing, toiletries, gift cards and/or rent/utility assistance.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High basketball and softball teams helped to make the holidays brighter for many families by volunteering at the Chandler CARE Center and Ronald McDonald House.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) The Chandler High Air Force JROTC Cadets participated in Wreaths Across America, a tribute to America's veterans, by laying wreaths and presenting the colors.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High's National Honor Society collected and wrapped Angel Tree gifts for 15 Chandler High families.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Elijah Schulz, Collin Nesbit and the Interact Club collected over 1,700 articles of clothing for Chandler's Clothes Cabin.
Casteel High - (2018-2019) Students from Casteel High School donated 2,560 Sweet Treats for Veterans in November. Deliveries were made to more than 11 organizations.
Casteel High - (2018-2019) Casteel students wrote 1,825 letters to deployed U.S. military members who are unable to make it home for the holidays.
Chief Hill Academy - (2018-2019) The Hill Learning Academy student council volunteered at the St. Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix.
Basha High - (2018-2019) Basha High Air Force Junior ROTC raised $900 for Honor Flight Arizona. In just 30 days, they raised money utilizing a "mining for silver" campaign where cadets donated nickels, dimes and quarters to accumulate the amount needed to send an Arizona World War II or Korean War veteran to Washington, D.C. as part of the Honor Flight program. This program enables these individuals to see their memorials in Washington, D.C. at NO cost to the veteran. Honor Flight Arizona website
Basha High - (2018-2019) Senior Carson Abercrombie has a passion for the Pit Bull breed. He is trying to make the public aware that they should give them a chance as they truly can be a lovable member of the family. This was his senior project, held on our campus.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) The Chandler High community donated goods for the Chandler Care Center's Thanksgiving Family Assistance Day. Student Council delivered a small bus and two trucks full of donations to the Care Center on Thursday, November 15. On Friday, StuCo showed up at the Care Center with 51 turkeys. CHS's Wrestlers also helped distribute donations at Saturday's event. Chandler High School is proud to be part of such a caring community!
Chandler High - (2018-2019) The Chandler High School Dance department donated $500.00 worth of turkeys to the Chandler CARE Center.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High has been named a Lead2Feed Certified School. Thirty-six schools in the U.S. received this honor in September for their goal-oriented community service and leadership. This award would not be possible without the hard work of Chandler High's FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America).
Basha High - (2018-2019) Basha High School was recognized as 1 of 6 certified Lead2Feed schools in Arizona! Lead2Feed is a Student Leadership Program that encourages high school students to refine leadership skills by completing a service project around a community need involving a public nonprofit. Only 36 schools from across the U.S. earned the Lead2Feed Certified School honor in recognition for their inspiring community service work and impressive demonstrations of leadership. Chandler High - (2018-2019) IB (International Baccalaureate) students volunteered at Project C.U.R.E. in Tempe. They enjoyed the opportunity to learn about how this organization works to provide much-needed medical supplies around the world. Project C.U.R.E. website
Perry High - (2018-2019) The Perry High freshman cheer team provided community service at United Food Bank on the last day of fall break.
Basha High - (2018-2019) Basha High football players recently read to kindergartners at Patterson Elementary's "Kinder Bear Cub" reading day.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High Advanced Pantomime and Characterization (APAC)/Company Theatre performed at CUSD elementary schools. They acted out their favorite childhood storybooks promoting a love of reading to K- 3rd graders. Bookends Fall 2019 Stories: Frog and Toad Together, Scooby Doo, Wemberly Worried, Horton Hears a Who, and Where the Wild Things Are.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) The Chandler High World Language department sent 30 students to Galveston and Harford Elementary schools to translate for parent teacher conferences. These students connected with their community and demonstrated how language has the power to connect humans!
Santan Junior High - (2017-2018) Our amazing Boosters presented Principal Kowalinski with a check for $10,000 to go towards the purchase of a COW (Computer cart On Wheels). Our parents and community have supported Santan Junior High through a variety of fundraisers all year long!
Chandler High - (2017-2018) Chandler High School Project Unify volunteered at Feed my Starving Children on May 8th. As a group, students were able to pack enough food for 97 children in third world countries to eat for an entire year. Feed My Starving Children website
Chandler High - (2017-2018) Chandler High Culinary students participated in two great community service projects. First, the students created a display of 450 cupcakes with handmade fondant decorations for the Project Unify Hawaiian Luau end-of-year dance. The students also packed summer snack packs for Matthews Crossing Food Bank to distribute to families in our community.
Hamilton High - (2017-2018) Hamilton Interact members attended the Interact District Conference where they helped package mobility devices to be shipped to Africa. Together, Hamilton High School, under the supervision of the Interact Club, raised 60+ mobility devices for the Crutches 4 Africa Project. Crutches 4 Africa has currently donated over 103,000 mobility devices to over 16 countries in Africa and 10 other countries around the world. Chandler High - (2017-2018) Current Chandler High AVID freshmen visited Andersen Junior High to deliver goodies to incoming freshmen accepted into the AVID program for the 2018-19 school year. We can't wait to see what our future Wolves accomplish through the college prep program!
Chandler High - (2017-2018) Several students from Chandler High School helped facilitate the Youth Frontiers Kindness and Courage Retreats at local elementary schools. They did an awesome job making a difference and discouraging bullying behavior among the youth in Chandler.
Chandler High - (2017-2018) Several AVID students visited Feed My Starving Children and helped pack 172 boxes to provide over 37,000 meals for children in the Philippines. That's enough food to feed 101 children for a year! Feed My Starving Children website
Chandler High - (2017-2018) Students from CHS participated in the City of Chandler's annual Teen Town Hall event. This event brought together teens from the community to discuss issues of concern to Chandler's teens and offer recommendations for practical solutions that the community can implement.
Arizona College Prep - Erie Campus - (2017-2018) Spanish Honor Society sponsored a packing session at Feed My Starving Children in honor of Random Acts of Kindness Week. Over 60 volunteers showed up and contributed toward packing 237 boxes (which will feed 140 children for a year).
Arizona College Prep - Erie Campus - (2017-2018) Student Government decorated the campus in honor of Random Acts of Kindness Week. StuGo planned treats throughout the week for the student body to let them know they are loved and appreciated.
Chandler High - (2017-2018) Student leaders from every CUSD school converged on Chandler High School last Friday for the movie-themed CUSD Student Council Convention. Students heard inspirational words from Dr. Casteel, and then participated in workshops and contests and had an all-around great time! District-wide, all schools collected over $12,000 for Fans Across America, a charitable foundation that assists families in transition, homeless students, and victims and children of domestic violence.

Hamilton High - (2017-2018) A big shout out to CTA Independence National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) for raising funds for our Homeless/underprivileged students and families at Hamilton! Wow, we are truly humbled by the support from these NEHS students and counselor, Michele Dussault, for organizing this amazing holiday fundraiser! We are also humbled by the generosity and compassion from these little kids with big hearts. Thank you, CTA Independence!
