Jacobson Elementary - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Audra Gorder! Audra, a Jacobson 6th grader, is heading to Santa Monica in July after qualifying for the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) Beach Volleyball West Coast Junior Olympic Games! Go, Audra!
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Nate Rohlicek and Brendy Bryan signed letters of intent to play baseball at Cochise College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Alexys Matcuk signed a letter of intent to swim at Southwest University (Texas).
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Gracie Bonenberger signed a letter of intent to compete in Field and Track at Hastings College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Tanaeya Johnson signed a letter of intent to compete in Track and Field at Mesa Community College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Da'Jon Walker, Andrew Kirk, Demetrius Warren, Tim Boyd, Javan Ah Quin Jr., Kaipo Magsayo, Jacob Zevallos, and Jon Williams signed letters of intent to play football at the collegiate level.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Emily Kendall signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Pacific University Oregon.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Twenty Chandler High student-athletes participated in Chandler High's Spring NCAA College Signing Recognition Day and committed to play at the next level. That makes 41 signees this year.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Solomon Liddell and Alan Valadez signed letters of intent to play soccer at Mesa Community College.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Tatum Slate and Kayla Myers signed letters of intent to play softball at Ave Maria and Park Universities.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Sydney Wiedeman signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Adams State University.
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) In an overnight game on May 15, Hamilton High, under the direction of Coach Mike Woods, won the 6A State Baseball Championship against Corona Del Sol 8-1 at Tempe Diablo Stadium. The first pitch was not thrown until 10:39 p.m. by freshman pitcher Logan Saloman. The last was thrown at 12:30 a.m. It was the third state title in four years and the seventh overall for the Huskies.

What an memorable experience you gave the Unified BASKETBALL team today! Payne has truly shown what it means to embrace inclusion and celebrate everyone's successes. Arizona College Prep - Erie Campus - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Kaitlyn Starks is the first female Arizona College Preparatory athlete to commit to playing at the collegiate level in soccer. Kaitlyn excels in everything she does. She is the current Student Government President and also a member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and She's the First. Kaitlyn was awarded Outstanding Student of the Year 2018-19 for her commitment to ACP and her classmates. She will graduate this year as a Distinguished Scholar and has earned an Academic Letter all four years for a GPA far above a 4.0. Kaitlyn is the Varsity Soccer Captain and has also earned an Athletic Letter all four years. She plans to attend St. Joseph's College Brooklyn in the fall to further both her soccer and academic careers. ACP Erie Seniors Highlights
Basha High - (2018-2019) Basha High boys and girls tennis teams took home four first place finishes and two second place finishes at the 2019 Chandler Prep Kiwanis Invitational! For context, 16 teams from across Arizona competed in five competition divisions: three singles and two doubles, in boys and girls tennis. They medaled in six of those ten divisions, and the girls medaled in four of the five divisions.

Chandler High - (2018-2019) Chandler High boys volleyball and Coach Bobby Robson won the state championship in a five-set thriller over Mountain View on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The victory is Chandler Volleyball's first state title in school history.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Mikaila Williams is a multi-sport athlete, playing both beach and indoor volleyball. As a Distinguished Scholar and member of National Honor Society, she has maintained a 4.44 GPA throughout her high school career. Casteel High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Maddie Zook shows leadership both in the classroom and on the soccer field. Maddie is kind to all and has worked hard to graduate with honors. She spends countless hours on the soccer field and has been recognized as a scholar athlete. Maddie has a 4.0 GPA and will attend U of A on the Wildcat Excellence Scholarship to study Business. Casteel High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Eli Ludwig is a respectful student who leads by example. The way he goes about his business, day in and day out, exemplifies not only the three Cs (Courage, Character, and Commitment) but also what being a baseball player and a short stop is all about. As a three year varsity starter, Eli has proven to be reliable on and off the field. He has been an anchor in the lineup throughout three region championship seasons and earned a spot on the All-State 2nd team during his senior season. Eli maintains a strong 3.8 GPA, all while taking AP classes and being a member of Casteel's Baseball team. He will attend NAU to study Criminal Justice. Casteel High Seniors Highlights
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Please congratulate our state champion Boys Double team of Neil Bhardwaja and Rahul Bhat! This is the 2nd year in a row that our Boys Tennis Double team has claimed the state championship. We are so proud of these seniors and Coach Gonzalez for all of their hard work.
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Our 2019 girl's tennis season came to an end, but not before making an improbable run into the state championship match where Hamilton finished as the state runner up behind Xavier.
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) After four and a half hours of battling with Brophy, the boys tennis team ended with a score of 3-5, state runner-up champions! The boys had an incredible regular season at 13-1 and finishing 2nd in state! We are very proud of these tough young men!
Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Cole Neff played on the Chandler High state champion football team for three years. His senior year, he chose to join the EVIT (East Valley Institute of Technology) program to study firefighting. On May 4, 2019 Cole graduated from the East Valley Regional Cadet Academy as a Fire and Rescue Cadet. He will attend EVIT next year to continue his firefighting career goal and then plans to join the service for firefighting. Chandler High Seniors Highlights
Chandler Online Academy - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Kenadie Cooper has attended all four years of high school at Chandler Online Academy. She is an outstanding young lady who excels in both ice hockey and her academics. Going to online school allowed for her to capitalize on the opportunity to attend the North American Hockey Academy in Vermont during each year, while completing her Honors and AP high school courses with outstanding success. In the fall, she will attend St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, as an NCAA Division I ice hockey player. It has been a privilege to watch Kenadie flourish, competing in a sport she has such a passion for. Her ability to focus, train, learn, live away from home and still keep everything organized will be a tremendous asset to her in this next part of her journey. Hamilton High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Madeline York has enjoyed her four years pole vaulting for the Hamilton Varsity Track and Field team. At the Arizona State Division I Championships, she pole vaulted to a 4th place finish her freshman year and 3rd place finish her junior year. It is with a strong sense of pride and honor that Madeline has accepted an appointment to the US Military Academy West Point. Hamilton High Seniors Highlights
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to the Chandler High Girls and Boys Track Teams, 2019 Division I State Track and Field Champions! This is the fourth championship in a row and 13th out of the last 14 years for the girls. The boys are eight-time state champions, and have won State three out of the last four years. Kudos to all of the athletes who won their races and events, including QuaRon Adams for running the 9th fastest U.S. all-time 100 meters for a freshman at 10.49 seconds. His time is a top-five all-time in Arizona as well.

Jacobson Elementary - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Chloe Faria, 5th grade student in Mrs. Clapham's class. Chloe won the USA Gymnastics Region 1 Level 6 Beam Championship in Reno. Her proud mom added, "She works so hard, and it wouldn't be possible without the support she gets in the classroom as her education always comes first."
Arizona College Prep - Erie Campus - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Ashley Gaskin was awarded the Silver Level Graduating Seniors Award on behalf of the Program Development Committee of U.S. Figure Skating. The U.S. Figure Skating Graduating Seniors Award recognizes the commitment and dedication of student athletes who have participated in figure skating throughout high school along with high academic achievement. Ashley will attend Arizona State University, Barrett in the fall. ACP Erie Seniors Highlights
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) Congratulations to Hamilton student Daniel Obarski who was selected as the Boys' Arizona State Winner in the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Student Athlete Scholarship Competition. He received a plaque and a $500 check. Additionally, his application will go onto compete in the next round for a chance at that national award.
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Jennifer Curry made us Husky Proud by becoming a state champion in wrestling during the first year it was an AIA sanctioned sport for girls in Arizona! She maintains a rigorous academic schedule while blazing a path in her sport. She brings humor and comrade to all of her classes and demonstrates a fierce competitive spirit which she will take with her as college athlete. Hamilton High Seniors Highlights
Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Timothy Boyd is an incredible multiple-sport athlete. As a field goal kicker for Chandler High football he stood out as the player to kick the ball down the middle of the goal post. On the volleyball court, he was often at center stage volleying the ball with tremendous force. Whether field or court, Timothy spent hours at each sport. As a student athlete, he never took the easy road, pushing himself mentally and taking nothing less than 3 honors or AP classes each year. Timothy is a force of a young man. Chandler High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Braxton Bradbeer is an outstanding scholar and athlete. He has been on the High Performance club volleyball team in Arizona for several years. On the Chandler High volleyball court Braxton was a true team player. He has been recognized for being a grounding force that allowed the team to shine. Casteel High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Cooper Christensen was one of the pioneers in terms of getting our student cheering section built and is very involved and influential in school spirit at Casteel. Casteel High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Odalis Jackson is a multisport student-athlete who consistently works to better herself in the classroom, on the field, and in the weight room. Casteel High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Timothy Mayhew started wrestling at Casteel on May 5, 2016, which was the first night he ever put on wrestling shoes. He worked very hard in his three seasons to overcome a late start in the sport and qualified for State all three years, including a 5th place at State finish this year. Timothy was selected on to the All CUSD Wrestling 1st team, and earned All State Honorable Mention All Academic Team with a 3.83 GPA. We are extremely proud of how much Timothy grew not only as a wrestler, but as a person. Casteel High Seniors Highlights

Basha High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Ty Siffermann is passionate about both football and baseball. He is going to Grand Canyon University to play baseball and plans to major in sports management. He has played baseball all his life and has many accomplishments on the field such as being named to the All State team as a sophomore. He also loved football and has played on Basha varsity team for three years now. Ty broke the catches record in Basha history and was also named two-way player of the year in its respected region. Not only has he dedicated himself to the sport programs at Basha, but also in the classroom being a true student athlete. Ty has a weighted GPA of 4.12 and unweighted GPA of a perfect 4.0! He pushes himself to being a good student athlete, but most important, an even better person. Basha High Seniors Highlights
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Kable Moore, Chandler High freshman, became the Trampoline and Tumbling State Champion in three events: Level 5 tumbling, Level 8 double mini and Level 8 trampoline. Kable's scores on double mini have earned him a spot at Junior Olympic Nationals in July.
Chandler High - (2018-2019) Cienna Samiley, CHS Junior, competed at the USA Gymnastics Region 1 Championships last weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada. She competed against the top Junior Olympic level 10 gymnasts from California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada in her age group. Cienna won the All-Around bronze medal after competing in all four events: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise. Cienna's third place finish earned her a spot to compete at Junior Olympic nationals to be held next month in Indianapolis. The best level 10 gymnasts from across the country qualify to nationals. Congratulations, Cienna!

Hamilton High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Connor Bottrill is an outstanding student who has maintained a 4.3 weighted and 4.0 unweighted GPA all four years of High School. Connor has been a member of the Hamilton varsity hockey team since his freshman year and is now the captain of the team. He also was involved in many clubs, including Spanish National Honors Society, Republican Club, and National Honors Society. Hamilton High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Since the age of 10, Fiona Huang's biggest passion has been volleyball. She currently is a starting player on both a club team and the Hamilton varsity volleyball team. In addition to athletics, Fiona is also an outstanding scholar. She has a 4.3 weighted GPA and scored extremely high on both the ACT and SAT. She has taken many AP classes, including Biology, AP Language Arts and Composition, AP Calculus, AP Statistics and AP Mandarin. Fiona received many acceptance letters from colleges all over the country. She has chosen to attend AZUSA Pacific University in California where she plans to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and continue on to get her Masters in Nurse Practitioner. Basha High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: Constantine "Gus" Pyle is a very hard-working and dedicated student. He has a GPA of 4.2 and has maintained a 4.0 or above throughout his time at Basha. He has been involved in National Honor Society for the last two years and has received the Outstanding Academic Accomplishment Award all four years. Gus played football at Basha for two years. Unfortunately, he sustained a serious back injury that withheld him from the field his junior and senior years, so he decided to stay involved with the program as a student volunteer coach. He enjoyed being a role model to the younger student athletes on the Freshman team and loved the opportunity he was given. Gus plans to attend the University of Arizona this fall and major in Sports Management. Basha High Seniors Highlights
Hamilton High - (2018-2019) SENIOR HIGHLIGHT: We are proud to call Macy Simmons a Husky. She is not only an a stellar student (holding a GPA of 4.3), but also an incredible athlete! Macy has made the USA Softball Junior National team. Only 20 players from across the county were chosen for this honor. Best of luck, Macy, as you go for the gold this summer.
