Thirty-eight teachers in CUSD have the NBCT status, and only three percent of certified K-12 teachers teaching in the United States have voluntarily worked towards and ultimately earned the rank of the NBCT title.

Raising more than $1,400, Jax will make at least two people regain their mobility and walk again. His first recipient received her leg in October, and both she and Jax were featured on the local San Antonio TV news.

One of our teachers, Mrs. Amanda Serchen supported her son on a project to reach a goal of raising $1,000 to support these families! Not only did they reach that goal, but our great community members donated household supplies, clothing, and furniture to Conley families affected by this loss. Our parents were very grateful and said they truly feel a part of the Conley family.

We are so excited to take on this venture promoting safe play and developing problem solving skills, while also providing opportunities for our students to participate in Junior Coach leadership on campus! The entire staff is on board, and we have our lunch staff trained to provide an environment of structured play for students. Thank you, CEF! And thank you to Playworks for donating 80 backpacks with school supplies to our students in need!

Due to his quick actions, Kaden was able to pull the granddaughter of Patterson Elementary first grade teacher Heather Ackerman from a pool and saved her life. Additionally, $1,000 worth of swim lessons are being offered for free and a pool fence is being installed at someone's house, both in his honor. He was also given the "Golden Rule Student of the Month" award by Agree.

They were one of only two Arizona teams to place out of 409 teams who participated. Team 4750C (Hannah Rahamim, Michael Stahl and Cayden Thompson) also won the Inspire Award. The Inspire Award is presented to a team only at Worlds that has inspired judges with their approach to the VEX IQ program.

This program encourages young people ages 11-13 to create a poster on a different theme selected annually by Lions International. The theme for this year was "Kindness Matters." The Sun Lakes club selected the poster submitted by Alexandra Adams of Ryan Elementary forward for state judging. She won at the state level, and her poster has been sent to Lions International for further review. The International winner will receive a $5,000 award and a trip to New York. Good luck, Alexandra! Tristan's 5th place finish out of 89 other 8U boys from 4 different states solidified his spot and earned him a full travel scholarship to compete in Reno. On December 9, he will race the fastest kids in the country for a chance to become a Junior Olympic All American! Good luck, Tristan!
