COMMUNITY EDUCATION NEWS— The Chandler Unified School District (CUSD) Community Education department will offer free summer enrichment programming this summer.
Select Club CUSD summer enrichment courses as well as Summer Academy elementary enrichment recovery courses are available for free this summer. In order to accommodate as many families as possible, families may register for a Club CUSD enrichment course or a Summer Academy elementary enrichment course, but they may not register for both. Scholarships will be applied at checkout. Families who have already paid and registered for these courses will be refunded.
“We are excited to offer nearly 50 free enrichment courses to our families this summer,” announced Gina Bonilla, Community Education enrichment division manager. “Our goal is to provide our students with fun summer experiences that inspire imagination, creativity, and a love for learning by offering them opportunities to explore subjects that pique their interests such as science, anime, music, coding, acting, math, creative writing, and more!”
Free summer enrichment programming was made possible through Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds by the Arizona Department of Education and by the 2023 summer enrichment grant through the Arizona Governor’s Office. Both funding sources are part of initiatives to help students catch up and close the gap in loss of learning that occurred with many students during the COVD-19 pandemic.

Due to grant restrictions, Reach Intersession Camps, Athletes in Training, Soccer Shots, and ActivStars will not be covered by the grant and will be fee-based enrichment options.
