Science Fair Judges Needed
Posted by Kristy Braaksma on 1/23/2020
Dear KGA Parents,
It’s that time of the year when science inquiry is taking center stage across all CUSD classrooms. At KGA our 5th and 6th Grade scientists have been working on their research projects and are ready to receive feedback on them. The KGA CIF Team is asking for parents to help judge our 5th and 6th grade science fair projects. If you are new to this process, here is a brief introduction to the event. Every year around the end of January, the KGA 5th and 6th grade students present their science fair inquiry projects to the KGA community for judging. This process allows students to then advance to the district fair known as CIF (Chandler Innovation Fair) to be held on February 22nd, 2020 at Hamilton High School. CIF offers 5 different avenues to encourage student participation. They include Problem Based Learning (PBL), Science Fair (HISEF), Invention Convention, Robotics Showcase, and Computer Science. CIF (Formerly known as The Hamilton Invitational Science and Engineering Fair) is a CUSD sponsored event where the top 6 KGA 5th and 6th grade projects will compete with other 5th and 6th graders from all over the district. The 1st place winners from each of the HISEF categories will then compete at the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair which will be held on March 26th and 27th, 2020.
We are offering digital judging where you will receive a couple of projects and rubrics to aid with the judging. You will also be provided with a link that will automatically help us compile the data. If you are interested in helping our students with this process please complete this Google Form . Thank you for supporting our students here at KGA.
Please see the Innovation Fair Flyer and the Parent Letter for Judging for more information.
Sincerely,
The KGA Chandler Innovation Fair Team
