I assign homework because it is part of the CTA program requirements outlined in the CTA handbook, which you can access electonically at anytime! I follow the handbook guidelines and policies closely. Homework is intended as an opportunity to review and practice key topics reviewed in class, so your child should be able to complete their assignments independently.  Encourage your child to utilize their resources, including their notes, handouts in the student resources section of their binder and by reading the directions in their text books. They can also be encouraged to use the link on my website for additional homework help resources.
