This week, students will practice finding the unit rate for a variety of activities. We will also experience math in action by measuring the rate at which we pass out papers in class and calculating the unit rate to make comparisons. Later, we will challenge ourselves to work with complex fractions and our rate of eating fractional pieces of chocolate! It's going to be an exciting, sweet week in math and science!
Try your kid's knowledge out and ask them to find the average speed when traveling or to determine the best buy at the store by calculating the unit rate.
