Outline Template

Once you have a thoughtful and complete outline you will be able to write your rough draft with ease. If you are one of those students who sits down at the computer and watches the cursor blink until they get bored of it and shuts the computer off to do other things, those days are over. From now on you will know exactly what you write before you ever sit down to do it.

"Writer's Block", a name generally used to describe a condition of not knowing what to write, comes from two things: a lack of knowledge of the topic and a lack of ideas. At this point you have already conducted your research and formulated your ideas. You are armed with a well-constructed outline and you are able to write your paper. All you have to do is make the ideas into complete sentences and you will have a rough draft of your paper.

On this page you will find a template for your outline (click on the image below and save to your local computer). Your outline may be changed slightly to fit the needs of your paper. Remember, the only sentences that will be complete are the first and last of each paragraph. All the others will just be ideas.
