Welcome!
Welcome! I am excited for the 2023-24 year at Weinberg Gifted Academy! I am looking forward to our journey in learning about finance and to discover the ways that we can be entrepreneurs. In orchestra, we will learn to play a stringed-instrument and we will learn to appreciate all that music has to offer. Some of my hobbies include reading, cooking, and playing in musical groups. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. I live in Chandler with my husband. We have 3 daughters and 3 dogs.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Engineering and spent some time working as an engineer for an auto manufacturer. After a while, I went on to get my teaching certificate in Mathematics. I taught math and engineering at Basha High School/Advanced Middle School before coming to WGA. Last year, I was the Media Assistant at WGA and I'm excited to delve into Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship with you.
I have several years of experience with teaching privately and as a choir director and orchestra director. I love seeing the students' progress! Currently, I play with the Arizona Wind Symphony, Women's Orchestra of Arizona and I volunteer for The Metropolitan Youth Symphony.
In addition to teaching Financial Lit and Orchestra, I run the choir clubs, Battle of the Books and Academic Pentathlon Club at WGA. It's going to be a fun year!
My Educational Philosophy
I want all of my students to do their best and have a lifelong love of learning! Do what you love and love what you do!
