Early Release: May 26 & 27
Next week we will have early release days on Wednesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 27. Class will dismiss at 1:04 pm. Please note that lunch will not be served on these days. Students will use this time to take final exams. Please review the Semester Two Finals Letter for additional information. All secondary schools in the district follow the same policy with regard to students who miss final exams. Please note that will will work with our families to ensure that all students have the opportunity to make-up finals if they are absent.
Willis Mindfulness Room
This year, Willis has opened a Mindfulness Room. We know that being in junior high has unique challenges and students can feel overwhelmed -- especially this year! The room offers a quiet space dedicated to enhancing and teaching students about being mindful. Practicing mindfulness can help with focus and learning and with emotional regulation. Ask your student if they have been to the Mindfulness Room and what they think about it. Contact the School Social Worker, Ms. Boersma, or a counselor (Ms. Chapin and Ms. Murray) if you would like to learn more.
7th Grade Registration Resources
Resources are now available to assist incoming 7th grade students and their families as they navigate the junior high registration process. Please review the following information on the Willis website:
If you have any questions, or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our office and we will direct you to someone who can help.
Free Lunch and Breakfast
For the 2020-21 school year, we are able to offer ALL of our students free breakfast and lunch. Please take advantage of this opportunity (and perhaps ease some financial burden) by encouraging your student to get something to eat at school. Students may eat breakfast in the cafeteria when they arrive in the morning and because we have four lunch periods there is plenty of time for them to get a lunch. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office: 480-883-5700.
Registration for 2020-21 School Year
Thank you for your interest in registering your child at Willis Junior High School. We look forward to assisting you. At this time, we encourage you to utilize the online registration portal to begin the registration process. Once you have completed the online form and submitted required documents, our registrar will be in contact to complete the process. Should you prefer to register your child in person, an appointment is required. If you need additional assistance, or would like to schedule an appointment for in-person registration, you may call our office at 480-883-5700. Thank you!

These funds are used to support a wide variety of extracurricular activities and events for our students. This letter from Mr. Delp includes details about the Arizona Tax Credit program and how to make a contribution. Please share this information with others who might be willing to lend financial support to Willis. Thank you!
