About
Garrison...
My name is Mrs. Garrison, and I am looking forward to sharing this school year with both my students and parents. I am excited about the many wonderful days of learning that we have ahead of us in our first grade classroom! I am anxious to get to know you, and you are probably just as anxious to get to know me. I love to read, cook and go on walks with my family. My husband and I have a beautiful little boy named Max who loves to run around, play and laugh!
My Education and Professional Background
I am a graduate of the College of Education at Arizona State University, and I received my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University. I have endorsements in both reading and English Language Instruction. I have been teaching first grade since 1999. Spalding is very near and dear to my heart, so I chose to become a Spalding Certified Teacher.
My Educational Philosophy
The reason I chose to become a teacher is because education has always been an important part of my life. I come from a family of educators and have grown up watching my family members, especially my mother, positively influence the lives of hundreds of children. I knew from the moment I set foot into my mother’s classroom that I would devote my life to children. My goal is to create a community of lifelong learners who will always value the importance of education. I am excited to be a part of our new Spanish Dual Language Immersion program here at Liberty as well! I love to teach literacy and am thrilled to be able to teach the English Language Arts to 60 first graders!
