Carlson Families,
Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable time with your family and friends. As we return to school, we are gearing up for an exciting and important time of year. I can not believe that we are in the fourth quarter of school. With upcoming state tests for 3rd-6th grade , I want to share some tips that will help our students feel prepared, focused, and ready to do their best work.
1. Eat a Healthy Breakfast:
A nutritious breakfast is essential for fueling both the body and brain. Help your child choose foods that will give them energy and help them stay focused throughout the school day. A good breakfast can make a world of difference in how well they perform in class!2. Get a Good Night's Sleep:
Rest is vital to a child’s success, especially as we head into testing season. Having a consistent bedtime routine brings structure and helps kids thrive. On nights before a big test, it’s especially important to ensure they get to bed early—by 9:00 PM is ideal! Adequate sleep helps them stay sharp and energized. Also, encourage your child to wake up with plenty of time in the morning, so they don’t feel rushed when getting ready for school. Reducing stress before a test is key!3. Study and Prepare:
Finally, it’s all about putting in the effort. Encourage your child to attend school every day, listen to their teachers, complete homework assignments, and always try their best. Let them know that asking questions and seeking help when needed is a great way to prepare for success. Together, we can ensure they feel ready and confident! We are so proud of all our students and the hard work they put in every day. With a little extra focus on healthy habits and preparation, we know they will rise to the occasion.
Thank you for your continued support.
Academically yours,
Ms. Elliott

Mrs. Smith's class enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of community building and hands-on learning! The students tie dyed shirts and kicked off their plant and animal unit by planting their very own Zinnia flowers, fostering both creativity and a deeper connection to the natural world.
This week, our 4th-grade students started their unit on natural disasters. Students were engaged on day one as they traveled around their classrooms writing about each natural disaster sparking their curiosity.
"Carlson's Pink Shirt Day was more than just wearing pink; it was about building a community of kindness. Project Connect's Kindness Project helped students visualize this by creating a chain of pink links, each representing an act of kindness. This powerful symbol will continue to inspire us to be kind every day."
Congrats to all of our science fair winners for their projects being selected for participation in AZSEF! We are so proud of our 6th graders as they have all worked so hard on their projects and really made a great team. Because of this, they now have the opportunity to go to state fair.
The Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF) is the state fair for Arizona. Managed by Arizona Science Center, AzSEF brings together first-place winners from school, homeschool, district, county, and regional science fairs across Arizona to compete for thousands of dollars in prizes and scholarships. Several of our 6th grade students were able to participate in AzSEF at ASU on Thursday, congratulations CHAMPIONS!
