    Welcome!

    Welcome! My name is Kristie Moreno and I've been teaching for 20 years, and CUSD has been my professional home since 2006.
    Despite the numerous challenges everyone has experienced over the past couple of years, we have all somehow adapted, grown, and persevered! This is a testament to the resiliency of our students and families, and it is just one of the many things I love about teaching.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I began my teaching career teaching fifth graders, and have since taught grades first through fourth. Each experience has helped me to prepare my students for what is ahead and allowed me to grow as an educator.  I am so excited to be a part of the San Marcos family teaching second grade!

    My Educational Philosophy

    Each day when a child comes to school, they should expect to be challenged and to challenge themselves. We will use previous experiences and learning as stepping stones to conquer second grade concepts. Children want to know they are valued, trusted, and most of all that they are cared for; my goal is to provide them a safe place to grow as people and as learners.
