Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to my San Marcos webpage. My name is Ms. Jennifer Hebert and I teach Music here at San Marcos. I love to read, go hiking, spend time with the people I love, and of course listen to/play music. I have been teaching here at San Marcos since 2020, and it's going to be a great year!

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated with my bachelors degree in Music Education from Northern Arizona University in December of 2019. My primary instrument is my voice, and I specialize in choral and vocal singing. I also play percussion, and I can pluck out a few chords on the piano and the guitar. I have worked with the Chandler Children's Chorus as a co-director for Hartford ELEMENTARY after-school choir club, as well as taught in K-12 choir summer camps. Along with teaching, I am a paid church singer, and I have had some experience directing adult church choirs.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that music is essential to a child's growth both as a student and as a person. Studies have shown that music can aide in both academic and social-emotional growth, provide an outlet of artistic expression, and assist in teaching essential life-skills that benefit the student through all phases of their life. Students learn best when they feel safe and loved, and when they are having fun. I believe hard work and a positive attitude are the foundations to success, and every child can succeed!

Connect With Us

Welcome!

My goal this year is to prepare you to develop your English language skills and showcase your learning. My whole family is full of teachers, so the love of learning is very valuable to me. I plan to share with my students the same information I have prepared my own kids to be successful in school.

My Education and Professional Background

I've been teaching over 20 years in Arizona. I received my bachelor's degree at NAU for Elementary Education. Later, I received my master's degree at ASU for Curriculum & Instruction. Currently, I am working on finishing my doctorate degree in Educational Leadership/Curriculum & Instruction.

My Educational Philosophy

Together we can achieve more!
