Welcome!

Hi! My name is Ms. Gallup and I am excited to be our media specialist at San Marcos. Our school is a place where students love to learn and teachers love to teach. We all work hard to see students succeed beyond their own expectations. San Marcos is a close knit community that I am proud to have been a part of for over a decade now.

My Education and Professional Background

Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood: Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD (1998) Masters of Art in Education / Educational Counseling: University of Phoenix (2004). I earned National Board Certification in Early Childhood (2017). I taught both Kindergarten and First Grade for two decades and greatly enjoy the enormous amount of growth that takes place in these younger years. As a new Media Specialist I am continuing my own love of learning and sharing my love of children's books with our students. I have proudly spent my career teaching in Title I schools.

My Educational Philosophy

My educational philosophy is continually evolving and changing as my own knowledge about teaching and learning continues to grow. I believe that all children can learn and that this begins with a partnership between teacher and parents who all have high expectations. Learning is hard work and sometimes it takes some bumps along the way to reach those end goals. I believe in a structured classroom environment with clear expectations for my students, but in the end know that we WILL have a lot of FUN along the way.

Welcome!

Knowledge is one of the most important gifts we can give our children. As an educator I am honored to teach the students of San Marcos. In the reading room we are excited to be able to provide a quality reading intervention program to our students.

My Education and Professional Background

Over the years I have earned the following degrees: BS Business Administration, Post Bacc, Elementary Education, Masters Educational Leadership. Endorsements in Early Childhood Education, English as a Second Language, and Reading Specialist

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that all children have the innate ability to learn. All students come to school with different backgrounds. It is the teachers job to determine how to effectively assist every child to learn. My goal is to guide students to be well-rounded, productive individuals.

Welcome!

Welcome to the exciting and wonderful world of Science exploration and Social Studies discovery. We will travel from the beginning of time learning about many different places and cultures around the world, and their contributions to the society in the world which we live today. Join me in learning about the many mysteries of our time, as well as, creating answers as the great thinkers of tomorrow, 'You!'

My Education and Professional Background

I have accomplished 16 productive years in the field of education. I am very proud to say that I have taught all the grades from 1-6, and have extensive experience with grades 6-8. This allowed me the opportunity to learn the progressive development of a child, both academically, as well as socially. . Prior to becoming an educator, I spent 4 years in the legal field. Currently, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Government and Politics, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, and a second Master's Degree in Educational Administration.

My Educational Philosophy

My Philosophy on Education is that all students can learn. Three factors determine the development and success of a student during these formative years. First, the teacher and the learning environment. The teacher must establish that they assume different roles in the class. The reason for this is in order to meet all student needs. Students are simply a microcosm of society as a whole. Diversity is a very important consideration. Therefore, a teacher must create a safe learning environment, establish boundaries, and maintain consistency in their interactions with students. Second, the learning environment must provide equal opportunities for participation, and in a variety of ways. All students must be valued, and there should exist a forum for them to be heard. Third, is that fact that students always put forth their best effort when they know that their teacher cares for them and learning. Mutual respect kindness.

Welcome to Priority Preschool! I look forward to an exciting year!

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in public relations from Colorado State University Pueblo in 2007. After working as an academic advisor at Mesa Community College for several years, I decided to go back to school and received my master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education in 2013.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that young children are the framers of their own educational experience, creating their environment through exploration and hands-on learning. I encourage parents to work with me as partners to help their child reach their educational goals.

Welcome!

Hi everyone! I'm excited to join San Marcos for my seventh year teaching! It is going to be a great year!

My Education and Professional Background

This is my 7th year teaching. I taught for five years in Charlotte, NC and relocated to Seattle, WA in 2016. I taught in Seattle, WA for 1 year before coming back home to Arizona to teach at San Marcos. I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education at Arizona State University.

My Educational Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is centered around Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I feel that students must feel safe and cared for before they are able to learn. I focus of creating a collaborative classroom community where students feel safe and able to take risks. I love teaching and it is my goal for all of my students to enjoy coming to school.

Welcome!

Welcome! It is so exciting to be a part of San Marcos Elementary School this year. As Pre-Kindergarten students step into their new educational life at school, it's an incredible joy to see them experience this new world of learning at San Marcos and all it has to offer their growth and development.

My Education and Professional Background

Growing up in Chicago and after the fun (really!) high school years, I attended Northern Illinois University for my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education. I began my teaching career in elementary school physical education and over the years have been privileged to teach high school physical education, and athletic coaching plus elementary school classrooms in a variety of settings, University ESL, and adult education. Teaching and serving others also took me to Africa to teach English to doctors and nurses in Rwanda. This year, I get to join a team of amazingly creative teachers at San Marcos! I'm committed to providing your children with a positive and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning. With a welcoming environment and integrated curriculum that looks toward a global society we'll be setting high expectations and personal goals and as I come alongside your students on their unique and extraordinary journey. Pre-K is such an exciting year!

My Educational Philosophy

Preschool is very exciting for both students and teachers. It's a time to experience many opportunities for discovery and learning together with other children and teachers in our school community. My classroom is a safe and caring place where students are free to express their uniqueness. Children are great imitators which challenges me to demonstrate the best I can be for them. Thank you for choosing San Marcos Elementary School and giving me the opportunity to guide your children to love learning in a fun and challenging environment.

Welcome!

Welcome to Kindergarten! I'm so excited to be part of the San Marcos Family! I can't wait to see what this school year has in store for us in Kindergarten. It's going to be an amazing year filled with lots of learning.

My Education and Professional Background

I received my Bachelors Of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that children learn best through experience, peer interaction, hands on activities, and when they are able to connect to what they are learning. I believe it is important that a child not only hears what they are learning but they also get to verbalize it and see it. I encourage students to work together as there are times where my instruction doesn't get through but the help of a peer is the key to making a connection in their brain.
