About Mr. Meyer...
Position: Dean of Students
Welcome Bears and Astronauts! I am excited to serve as the Dean of Students at San Marcos Elementary and Andersen Elementary! I hope everyone is ready for a phenomenal and engaging school year!
My Education and Professional Background
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in both Elementary and Special Education from Arizona State University while later earning a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University. I have been at CUSD my entire career, starting as the Willis 8th grade boy's basketball coach when I was student- teaching at ASU. Then, I taught at Frye Elementary as a 6th grade teacher for 8 years and was the flag football coach, and also coached freshmen boy's basketball at Perry High School. I love CUSD!
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that all students, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds, have a passion to learn and be engaged in school. As an educator, it's vital that we establish positive relationships with our students and colleagues to create buy-in to the vision/mission, increase motivation and cultivate those relationships into ones that are long-lasting. I want my students to leave school with goals that are attainable, develop into strong leaders and be able to positively contribute to their community and beyond.
