About
Skousen...
I have been teaching for more than 20 years in the Chandler Unified School District. Galveston is my school of choice! My daughter attended all her elementary years at Galveston. She now attends high school in the Chandler District.
My Education and Professional Background
I received my Associates of Art degree from Mesa Community College because I promised myself I would graduate from MCC. Once I decided to become a teacher, I attended Arizona State University for my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. I decided to become a principal, and received my Masters in Educational Leadership for Northern Arizona University. I have since decided that the classroom is where my interests lie, and have chosen not to go into administration.
My Educational Philosophy
Children are naturally curious. It is a joy to see them learn, understand, and grow. They learn best when they feel safe and accepted. I strive to have a welcoming community in my classroom.
