My Education and Professional Background
- Certification in Orff Schulwerk, Arizona State University, Levels I & II
- Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Northern Arizona University
- Bachelor of Music, Arizona State University

I am from Midland, Michigan where I was educated in the public schools. My love for music began in music at school as well as church choir. Learning how to play instruments is fun, and my main instruments include piano, flute, and French horn. While at ASU, I participated in several music groups such as the Sun Devil Marching Band (marched in the Rose Bowl & Sun Bowl!), Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and Choral Union (sang with Phoenix Symphony!).
I live in Chandler with my husband, son Matthew (senior @ BHS) & daughter Jenna (8th at Payne JHS). We enjoy spending family time traveling and watching many sports! My son plays baseball, my daughter plays volleyball, and we also like to cheer for the following teams: ASU, Ohio State, Suns & Dbacks!
My Educational Philosophy
The best job in the world is teaching students the joy of music and how it greatly affects our lives. I strongly believe that the arts are very important for emotional development. Watching students work hard to achieve success is very exciting!
