    Welcome to Mrs. Hughes' Kindergarten Class! Kindergarten will hold many exciting adventures this year. I am excited to be a part of your child's learning journey!

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have been teaching for over 15 years. I have taught first grade, preschool, and kindergarten for CUSD. I truly enjoy teaching the little ones . It makes my day to see a child's smile when they learn something new. My students amaze me each day with their love of learning, their energy level, and their ability to melt my heart. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a BA in Elementary Education and a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction. I also hold the following endorsements; Reading Specialist, Early Childhood and SEI Endorsements.

    My Educational Philosophy

    Each year, my goal is to cultivate a classroom community that fosters a love for learning and success. My goal is to provide students with a safe, positive and engaging learning environment in which each child strives to reach his or her full potential. I believe that each child is a unique person who has something special to contribute to our class. I love to inspire lifelong learning and independence in each child in my classroom.
