    Welcome!

    Welcome to preschool! I am so excited to get know all the students this year. Preschool is such a fun time, it is often a child's first experience with school and being with their peers. In preschool, students learn and grow so much in a very short period of time. I love to see how much each child changes and grows over the course of the school year.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I earned my bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in Family Resources in 2002, and a master’s in special education from Northern Arizona University in 2010. I taught special education preschool in Phoenix Elementary District before coming to Chandler district in 2016.

    My Educational Philosophy

    I believe that young children learn best through hands on experiences. Making learning fun and relevant to preschoolers is key. Our curriculum and weekly lesson activities foster learning through our senses and are adapted for each child’s individual needs to make it meaningful for all. I believe that much of preschool is learning social skills, and being able to interact positively with teachers and peers. The teacher, paraprofessionals, and therapist work together to develop a relationship with each child so they feel safe and cared for in our classroom community.
