    Welcome to Mrs. Young's class! This year you will be scientists, you will be explorers, you will be important, you will be loved, you will be respected, you will be a friend, you will be a teammate. I look forward to working with each and every one of you.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. Growing up and attending Chandler Schools (Santan and Basha) made me eager to provide students with the same wonderful opportunities and experiences I had in Chandler Schools. I graduated from Mary Lou Fulton at Arizona State University in 2014. Go Sun Devils! I have taught fifth grade and fourth grade! I have worked in CTA classrooms from the start. I have been involved in a number of extra-curricular committees and teams such as: Student Council, Leadership Team, Water/Field Day, and Science Fair.

    My Educational Philosophy

    Why I Teach:
    Teaching is an opportunity to create lifelong learners and problem solvers. I want my students to have a safe and fun learning environment to look forward to every day. I want to teach my students to have grit and never give up. I teach to reflect and learn.

    What I Teach:
    I teach passion, collaboration, humility, and kindheartedness. I teach students to take responsibility for their actions. Students learn how to have an active role as part of a team. I teach students to believe and achieve more than they ever thought possible. I teach higher level thinking, the importance in questioning, and communication.

    How do I Teach:
    I teach with specifically set high expectations and goals. I teach with a variety of instructional strategies and techniques. I use a variety of methods to deliver content. I consider and use each student’s strengths. I use tools and connections to the real world so that delivered content matters.
