About Ms. Lori Robinson...
I was born and raised in Michigan. I earned a bachelor's degree in Harp Performance and Music Education in 2011 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I later earned a Master’s in Elementary Education from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan and received my Educational Leadership Degree from Arkansas State University in 2020.
My Education and Professional Background
I have taught K-8 general music, band, and 5th grade in schools in Michigan and Arizona. I taught alternative education K-8 and was a PBIS (positive behavior intervention and supports) specialist in Arizona. I believe that my diverse teaching background working with both general education and students with special needs has shaped my professional and personal outlook on education and teaching.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that students want to learn and perform well in school. My experience has taught me that not all students are the same. They have different learning styles, emotional, physical, economic, and social differences that impact their learning, their view of others, and their view of the world in general. My responsibility as an educator is to help my students become continuous learners and take responsibility for their own behavior and choices. I strive to help students to respect others, and to take pride in their own accomplishments.
