Welcome to Mr. Fotsch's Gr. 4 Shumway Stars webpage!
About me... I have been married to my beautiful wife, Hillary, since 2007. We have two children, Tyler (age 13) and Charlotte (age 10). We live in Gilbert. I enjoy hiking, playing pickleball, reading, and doing word games on my phone.
My Education and Professional Background
I am a product of Mesa Public Schools, having graduated from Westwood High School. I attended the University of Arizona, earning my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. I then earned my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Trinity University in Washington, DC.
I started my teaching career as a Teach For America Corps member in 1998, and I have been teaching ever since! I originally started teaching in Washington, DC. I then moved to the Boston area in 2003. Eventually we relocated back to the Valley in 2015
My Educational Philosophy
My job as a teacher is to help your student grow into a lifelong learner by providing a safe place to learn and explore the world around them. I want my students to be curious, organized, and flexible thinkers.
