    Welcome to Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School!




    My name is Yanai Alcala and I am the Parent Liaison at Hartford Elementary School.  I am proud to be a part of the Hartford family.  I serve as the bridge between our school, community and home.  I work as part of the team to ensure your child’s academic success.





    Where Can You Find Me?


    Parents can find me at the Hartford Parent Center, which is located in wing D.  My work hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. My phone number is (480) 812-6714 and my e-mail is alcala.yanai@cusd80.com.   


    Available Services


    I am honored to be able to assist and help families with the following services:  
    • Translating and interpreting services for conferences, meetings, parent letters, etc.

    • Conducting parent workshops.

    • Providing community resources and referral listings.

    • Lending of learning materials to parents.

    • Assisting with computer usage.  There are 2 computers available for parent use in our Parent Resource Center. 

    • Attending PTO meetings/activities

    • Coordinating parent volunteers & school projects/events.

    My Vision for Hartford


    It is important to create a strong relationship between parents, students and teachers, the stronger the relationship the more beneficial it is for a child’s educational success.  By providing resources and classes to our Husky Families we ensure they become actively engaged in their child’s academic achievements. 


    Final Thoughts/Personal Statement


    My purpose at Hartford Elementary is to connect you with what your child is learning and how you, as a family, are needed to help your child achieve success in his/her education. 

    Community Outreach / Support 
    We have established many partnerships with non-profit and social service agencies. Some of our partnerships include: United Food Bank (food backpacks for identified students on the weekends), Valley of the Sun United Way (parent/child classes, volunteering, teacher grants), Chandler CARE Center (community resource center), Chandler Masonic Lodge (donations & Bikes for Book contest), Cardons Children's Hospital (safety courses, helmet/booster seats), First Things First, United Healthcare, Helping Families in Need and many more.
