Hello! My name is Michelle Rabara. I grew up in North Dakota and moved to Chandler shortly after I graduated from the University of North Dakota with my teaching degree. When I am not working with students, I am spending time with my husband and two sons traveling, camping, playing golf, and watching movies.
My Education and Professional Background
I began teaching in 1990. My first 6 years, I taught 5th grade in the Littleton School District. I then joined the Chandler District and taught 5th and 4th grades at Weinberg Elementary for 18 years. In 2014 I joined Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary as a Reading Specialist. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I also have a Reading Endorsement as well as an English as a Second Language endorsement.
My Educational Philosophy
My responsibility as a teacher involves fostering a sense of excitement to learn within each student and encouraging all of my students to achieve to their greatest potential. I believe it is vital to establish a positive rapport with students by creating a warm, caring environment where students feel valued and respected. I am deeply committed to supporting, encouraging, and guiding students to become successful readers and life-long learners.
