Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) Angelica Abbey's 6th graders went "Math or Treating" today! Kids got to choose the review math problem, and earn whichever prize it corresponded with!

Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) Chandler High students in the Theater Bookends show came to Frye Elementary and put on an amazing performance for the kindergarten through 3rd grades. Student actors acted out scenes from several popular children's books.

Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) Actress Busy Philips started a campaign to fulfill Amazon classroom wish list requests from ten teachers across the nation. Frye 6th grade teacher Angelica Abbey was the tenth teacher selected! She was featured on Philips' social media in addition to receiving $300 in Amazon gift cards and having her Amazon wish list filled. Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) Frye Kindergartners worked hard on learning mouse skills in preparation for using laptops.
Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) The City of Chandler presented a water conservation assembly for Frye's 2nd-4th grade students. Students learned the importance of conserving water, especially because we live in a desert.
Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) The Chandler Fire Department visited our 1st and 2nd grades to share fire safety tips.
Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) Students in Mrs. Abbey and Ms. Ray's class practiced fractions, percents and decimals with Skittles! It was engaging lesson in math!
Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) The Frye Elementary staff worked at McDonald's as a fundraiser for Frye Student Council and raised over $600!
Frye Elementary - (2019-2020) Miss Abigail Bligh and her 5th and 6th Grade CASE students implemented a Coffee Cart on Fridays for the staff at Frye. The students work on life skills and social skills by preparing the orders and delivering the coffee to staff members. This program empowers the students and has added a new and fun aspect to the amazing community the staff and students have created at Frye Elementary.

Frye Elementary - (2018-2019) Frye Elementary kindergarten students used the inquiry process to formulate questions on how bubbles moved differently when they came from a bubble machine or by a person blowing through a wand. It was followed up by a writing activity. The activity also was part of a celebration of the 25th day of kindergarten.

Frye Elementary - (2013-2014) Frye Elementary students Ritchie Torres and Alina Valencia won at the Frye's Ritz Round-Up Carnival and became 'Principals for the Day.'
Frye Elementary - (2012-2013) Eighteen of the 19 winners in in the City of Chandler's ninth annual fourth grade environmental art contest were CUSD students. Frye Elementary had one winner, Anahi Melendrez in Cecelia Loera's class.
Frye Elementary - (2012-2013) Jil-Christi Tatar and Tamara Kreutzbender were awarded $4750 by SRP for a yearlong STEM project for the entire 6th grade to participate in.
Frye Elementary - (2012-2013) Jil-Christi Tatar and Tamara Kreutzbender were awarded $4750 by SRP for a year-long STEM project for the entire 6th grade: Structures Throughout Time, starting with nomadic people to modern living. Students build models to scale to represent each ancient civilization. The unit wraps up with homes of the future using only recycled or repurposed material, with students designing structures that keep energy conservation in mind. Finally, all 6th graders will take a field trip to Talliesin West.
Frye Elementary - (2011-2012) Sixth graders at Frye Elementary participated in a Project Wet year long project, S.W.A.P. (School Water Audit Project). Sixth graders took baseline and post data from changing out the faucet aerator in all the sinks of the school and followed up by installing water saving devices at home. Overall there was a year long savings of over 70,000 gallons of water this year.
Frye Elementary - (2011-2012) Tamara Kreutzbender, sixth grade teacher at Frye Elementary, was selected for the 2012 Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy program at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama this summer. Honeywell Educators @ Space Academy is a professional development program designed for teachers to learn new and innovative techniques to educate their students about science and math. Approximately 200 teachers from around the world will participate.
