Meet Our Teachers
Mrs. Klier 1st grade TOP:
Mrs. Klier has been teaching at Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School since 2014. She is excited to expand our TOP program to 1st grade. Mrs. Klier has been teaching 2nd grade math curriculum to 1st grade students in the past and this has been the highlight of each of her days. She is eager to push and grow your child, using a more rigorous curriculum, to ensure the success and readiness of all TOP students.
Mrs. Williams 2nd grade TOP:
Hello! My name is Stacy Williams. I graduated from Purdue University with dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary and Special Education. I also received a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from NAU. I am currently working on my Gifted Endorsement. I have been teaching for 26 years with the last 9 years being at Hartford S.E teaching grades 1-3. I have taught primary grades since 2004 in the Chandler Unified School District. I am excited about having my first opportunity to teach 2nd grade in the TOP program this year.
Mr. Plitz 3rd grade TOP:
Mr. Plitz graduated from Rutgers University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. After working and exploring the country for a few years, he got his Master of Education degree from the University of Phoenix in 2011 and has been teaching ever since. Mr. Plitz has been at Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School since 2013 and teaching 3rd grade TOP since 2017.
Ms. Ogden 4th grade TOP:
Ms. Ogden holds a bachelor's degree, from Luther College, in general elementary education with special endorsements in both middle school math and science. She is currently working toward achieving a gifted endorsement. Prior to Hartford, she taught 2nd grade in Mesa (2 years) and 6-8th grade at Andersen Jr. High (5 years). As a new member of Hartford and to the TOP program, she is excited to focus on building a positive classroom culture while encouraging her students to push themselves to their academic limits!
Mrs. Griffin 5th grade TOP: Mrs. Griffin graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She also possesses an ESL and Bilingual (BLE) endorsement and is currently working on her Gifted endorsement. Mrs. Wilson taught in the Creighton School District in Phoenix in 1999. She has been at Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School since 2004. She has taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 3rd grade TOP, and 4th grade TOP.
Mr. O'Mahony 6th grade TOP:
Hello! My name is Mr. O'Mahony and I am the 6th grade TOPS teacher here at Hartford. I have ten years of classroom teaching experience. I also possess a Master's Degree in Gifted Education and a Middle-Grade Language Arts endorsement. I am excited to be here and look forward to inspiring my students to aim high in life, and that tenacity and determination are the keys to achieving their dreams.
