    Welcome!

    Hello, my name is Sylvia Wilson. I am happy to have your child in my class this year. I am a native of Arizona and live here in Chandler. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, and watching football.

    My Education and Professional Background

    I obtained my Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees from Arizona State University. In addition, I have an ESL (English as a Second Language) endorsement, a BLE (Bilingual) endorsement, and a Gifted endorsement. I began my teaching career in 1999. I have been teaching at Hartford Sylvia Encinas since 2004 and I’ve taught grades 1st through 6th.

    My Educational Philosophy

    As a teacher I believe that all children are capable of success. I set high expectations for my students. I expect my students to do their best and always try their hardest. I will provide a safe learning environment that will facilitate thinking and encourage risk-thinking. I look forward to working with you and your sixth grader.
