Tax Credit Information
Thank you for your contributions that help fund extracurricular activities at CTA-Goodman!
For the 2015-16 school year, CUSD has adopted an online process for families to contribute to their student's use of Tax Credit funds. We will not be collecting donations/usage fees by check or cash at school next year. On the Goodman website will be a page for Extracurricular Activities. It will have a section for each grade level and a fee for that grade's activities. At this time, each grade has a fee of $10. This allows us to use our general tax credit funds for enrichment programs in school, character building activities, Art Masterpiece supplies and the like.
There will be a separate listing for any clubs on campus that utilize Tax Credit funds to aid their activity: Running Club, Chorus, Gator-Bots, Battle of the Books Club etc. That is a separate fee as not all students in a grade level participate. These club fees are now set at $5 each. There will also be a separate category for more expensive field trips: Kartchner Caverns, Science Camp, Grand Canyon, Challenger Space Center.
For your child to participate, you will need to go online and pay the grade level fee. I do not suggest doing other clubs etc. until they come along in the year--kids change their minds and at this moment, we are not finalized on grade level class trips. But, our page had to be prepared to post.
Each time you make a contribution for your child/children, it will be recorded as a TAX CREDIT DONATION in your name. Arizona law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers to claim a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per calendar year if filing status is Married, filing Joint Return; $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is Single or Head of Household; and, $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is Married filing separate return — for contributions that fund extracurricular activities in public schools.
