Welcome!

Welcome to Haley Elementary! My name is Kathy Guidry. I am so thrilled to be here and feel so fortunate to be a part of the team at Haley. This is such a great school community! I look forward to working closely with each of you to make this a fantastic second grade year for your child!

My Education and Professional Background

I graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Kindergarten Endorsement. I have been working in the education field in some capacity since 1991. I taught full-day kindergarten for three years in Southern Louisiana and then moved back to Indiana to further continue my teaching career. While in Indiana, I worked as an Extended Day Program Supervisor for four years, a kindergarten teacher for three years, a third grade teacher for one year, and an intermediate inclusion teacher for one year. In August of 2005 I decided to pursue a Master's in Special Education. I graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in May of 2007. I have been with Chandler schools since 2007. I have taught the ADPTS program and also second grade.

My Educational Philosophy

I strive to maintain a supportive learning environment that encourages all students to take risks and become actively involved in the learning process. If students are not engaged in their learning, their education will be less meaningful and success may not be achieved. My goal is for all students to experience some degree of success so they are excited about their efforts and realize the importance of becoming life long learners!
