Welcome!

Welcome! I am so excited to be joining the Haley community. Throughout the school year, I will be working with students in a variety of ways, including teaching social/emotional lessons in the classrooms, facilitating small groups, and providing one on one support for counseling needs, 504 plans, and crisis intervention. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please reach out to me. I am looking forward to working alongside you to support our Haley students.

My Education and Professional Background

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay with my bachelors in psychology and human development, I received my Masters of Education in Counseling from DePaul University in Chicago, IL (Go Bears!) I am licensed as a School Counselor in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Arizona. In addition, I have my Professional Counselor License (LPC) in Illinois. My school counseling career began five years ago at Sabish Middle School in Fond du Lac, WI, where I spent three years working with 6-8th graders. My last two years were spent at Lineville Intermediate School in Green Bay, WI supporting 5th & 6th graders. This will be my sixth year in school counseling, but my first year in Arizona, and I am honored to be starting at Haley Elementary.

My Educational Philosophy

My philosophy aligns with the core values of trauma sensitive schools- choice, collaboration, empowerment, safety, and trustworthiness. I believe that it is my job to create a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who steps into my office and Haley Elementary. I work from a student-centered approach, and believe that building relationships is the most important part of my job. Having positive relationships impacts social, emotional, and academic outcomes for students. I believe that a collaborative approach is best, and that our students benefit from strong home-school partnerships. Working alongside students and families, giving them voice and choice, guides my practice. I will always do what is best for students and advocate on their behalf. My hope is that all Haley Elementary students are happy, healthy, and prepared for their future.
