Welcome!
Throughout the school year I work with students in a variety of ways including facilitating small groups, providing one on one support for counseling needs, 504 plans, and crisis response, and delivering universal social emotional lessons. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please reach out to me as I am available to meet with and support every child at Haley. I am looking forward to working alongside you to support our students.
My Education and Professional Background
I earned my B.S. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay in 2011, and my M.Ed. in Counseling from DePaul University in 2014. I am currently licensed as a School Counselor in both Arizona and Wisconsin and have my Professional Counselor License (LPC) in Illinois. My school counseling career began in 2015 in Wisconsin, and I joined the Haley Tigers in 2020.
My Educational Philosophy
My philosophy aligns with the core values of trauma sensitive schools- choice, collaboration, empowerment, safety, and trustworthiness. I believe that it is my job to create a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who steps into my office and Haley Elementary. I work from a student-centered approach, and believe that building relationships is the most important part of my job. Having positive relationships impacts social, emotional, and academic outcomes for students. I believe that a collaborative approach is best, and that our students benefit from strong home-school partnerships. Working alongside students and families, giving them voice and choice, guides my practice. I will always do what is best for students and advocate on their behalf. My hope is that all Haley Elementary students are happy, healthy, and prepared for their future.
