Welcome!

Welcome to Kindergarten!!! We are going to have a fun and busy year of learning and growing together! I look forward to working with all of my families and building a wonderful community together. It is going to be a successful year!

My Education and Professional Background

I have been teaching in the Chandler Unified School District since 2008. Prior to coming to Bologna, I taught preschool in the district at Pathways Learning Center and Hartford. I opened the preschool program here at Bologna. After having lots of fun in preschool, I moved on up to kindergarten and have loved every minute of it as well! Early Childhood Education has always been a focus and love of learning for me. I am a Chandler native and a proud graduate of Chandler High School.GO WOLVES! I attended Arizona State University for my undergraduate degree in Education and received my Master's degree from there in Curriculum and Instruction with an Early Childhood Endorsement as well as my SEI endorsement. GO DEVILS! I spend my time outside of school with family and friends. My husband Steven and I have been married for 12 years and together for 22 years. We met at Andersen Jr. High School here in Chandler. We have a 5-year son named Cutler and a 2-year daughter named Jamisen.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that kindergarten is important because it provides the first steps for your child in strengthening their socialization skills, learning how to compromise, be respectful of others and problem-solve. It bridges the gap between the age when kids spend their days playing (at home, or in daycare/nursery school) and the more formal learning begins making it a smooth transition into the first grade. Kindergarten also provides a place where your child can gain a sense of self, explore, play with their peers, and build confidence. I love that I get to be a part of that!
