Position: Classic Math 6th Grade
Team/Department: 6th Grade
Welcome to 6th Grade! Students will be experiencing hands-on math projects, as well as learning 6th grade math skills. Sixth grade is a special time because it is a bridge between elementary and middle school. Students will be guided both academically and socially and encouraged throughout the year to become more independent.
My Education and Professional Background
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University in Wheaton, IL. I have a broad teaching background which began in Chicago and continued in Arizona. I have specific training in Spalding, Fundations, Orton Gillingham, and Teaching Reading Effectively. I feel passionate about teaching, especially at the 6th grade level.
My Educational Philosophy
In partnership with my students and their parents, I want to help create a classroom where students become lifelong learners. My goal is for students to be engaged and enjoy learning. All students learn in unique ways and I hope to address their learning styles effectively.
