|"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education."|

My name is Abby Druck, and I’m the proud principal of CTA Freedom Elementary. We take great pride in providing a rigorous, challenging academic education, while instilling character traits and values that will help our students continue to be successful leaders, long after they have left CTA Freedom. I’m so happy to be part of such a positive, collaborative community. I appreciate how hard our staff, families, and students are working together to create an exceptional elementary experience.
My Education and Professional Background
- Master’s Degree – Educational Leadership – Grand Canyon University
- Master’s Degree – Curriculum & Instruction – Northern Arizona University
- Bachelor’s Degree – Elementary Education – University of Arizona
I have been working in education since I graduated college in 2002. I have been with Chandler USD since 2003, and I am so proud to work for such a wonderful school district! It is an honor to continue my career here in Chandler as the principal of CTA Freedom Elementary.
- Principal – CTA Freedom Elementary – 2015 to present
- Dean of Students – Hancock & Tarwater Elementary - 2012 to 2015
- Teacher – Navarrete/Jacobson Elementary – 2003 to 2012
My Educational Philosophy
I believe that students learn best when they feel safe and welcomed! A classroom should be like a family at school – when children are in an environment where they are supported as individuals, they feel safe to take an academic risk, they push themselves to rise to challenges, and they encourage one another! Students need opportunities to learn from mistakes, as well as successes. All kids have the ability and right to learn. It’s our job as educators to determine how they learn best and provide the proper support for each child to meet their full potential.
