Welcome!

Welcome to my class! I am looking forward to a great year! In my classroom I make sure that everyone is treated with respect and kindness and I expect my students to give me their best effort. I make learning fun, yet still set high expectations for all of my students.

My Education and Professional Background

My name is Veronica Lucero and I have been teaching since 1998. I have a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso with a specialization in Early Childhood. I also have a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Arizona University. I am certified in Spalding, Thinking Maps, and Write from the Beginning. I have previously taught kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 7th grade.

My Educational Philosophy

I believe that each child is a special individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating environment so that they may grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my hope as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites the sharing of ideas. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my students so that they can successfully pursue their goals and dreams.
